Voluntary School Contributions

The voluntary school contribution amount is set by our school P & C Assoc at the first meeting of the school year. This year the amount has remained unchanged at $40.

While the school contribution of $40 is voluntary, the funds are used to purchase art, craft and other consumable items for individual student use in classrooms. These items are not funded by the government but must come out of the school’s budget.

This contribution can now be sent in via your child or can be made at the front office between the hours of 8:30am – 3:30pm. Please send in a clearly marked envelope your child’s name, class and what the payment is for. Envelopes are available outside the school office near the Payment Envelope Box.

Thank you to all the families who assist the school with this contribution.

Fathers’ Day Stall

Money to purchase presents should be brought in on the day of the stall only. Children will be able to purchase their gifts from the P&C on Tuesday 31st August.

KINDERGARTEN 2011 ENROLMENTS

We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten 2011.

Some of our families may not be aware that they need to inform us now in the Front Office if they have a child starting next year. This can be done by the parent/caregiver on 4325 2178. For families who have already given us their child’s details, enrolment packs will be posted out at the end of this month.

If you know of other families with no children currently at our school, would you please let them know to call the Office to enrol their child.

DADS IN EDUCATION BREAKFAST

On Friday 3rd September, GEPS will be celebrating a “Dads in Education Breakfast”. The event will run from 8am to 9am. You are welcome to stay for the whole hour or just 10 minutes.

To help with catering please return one reply slip per family as soon as possible, but no later Friday 20th August.

A donation of $2 would be appreciated on the day.

Children may invite their dad/grandfather/uncle or the significant male in their lives, to join us for a cooked breakfast and other activities.

This occasion is an opportunity for men to participate in the children’s school experience.

For safety and supervision purposes, only students attending our school are invited, not older or younger brothers or sisters.

Kind regards

The Stage 1 staff

Hi everyone!

At the end of the month we go into Fruit and Veg Month with lots of extra fun

from Sydney Market’s annual competition. Be on the lookout for the “know

your fruit and vegetables” going around the classrooms as well.

There are lots of spaces on the roster at the moment. Ideally there should

be two names on each day so that should someone be ill or have work there is

always another volunteer to give a hand but at the moment this is very rare.

If you can’t be tied down to specific days but could be on a casual list – to

be called in on the day – then that would be a huge help as well. Please

think seriously about this as the children love to see you behind the

counter. You don’t have to be a short order cook or be brilliant at maths to

help and as the year marches on it can get busy. Please drop your name and

number into the canteen or ring or text me on 0414 907 968.

Thanks

Dear Parents and Caregivers

School Administrative and Support Staff National Recognition Week

SASS Staff at Gosford East Public include the Administration Staff in the office and Library; the many School Learning Support Officers (Teachers’ Aides) who support students and teachers in classrooms and the playground; and our General Assistant, Mr Terry Waters. These staff members are key people in our school. They provide background support for the running of the school, student welfare and the teaching and learning programs. Our families, students and teachers depend on them in so many ways.

This week we would like to take time to acknowledge the huge contribution these staff members make to our school community. The theme for Recognition Week 2010 is “SASS Staff …………….Keeping Schools Afloat!” – a most appropriate slogan which indicates just where we would be without them!
