in recognition of the value of public service The award is $3,000 per year

Application requires:

Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

• Provide ACT or SAT Scores (Academic Applicants)

• Have a demonstrated commitment to public service (forms documenting service).*

θ Two letters of recommendation

θ Write an essay of no more than 500 words sharing a little information about yourself, please make sure to include your academic interests (what you are planning to study in college), and what you hope to accomplish individually and for others in the future. Please share something interesting about yourself. The essay should not just recap the accomplishments in your application.

2. NAEHCY LeTendre Education Fund 2013 Scholarship Application

The scholarships will be awarded on Sunday, November 3, 2013

Who is eligible for the scholarship? The scholarship funds are available to students who are homeless or who have been homeless during their school attendance, and who have demonstrated average or higher than average achievement.

According to federal law, a person is considered homeless who “lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate night-time residence.” This includes people living in shelters, cars, motels, campgrounds, or places not meant for human habitation, as well as children and youth who are living with friends or relatives temporarily because they lack permanent housing How do students apply? Applicants must submit:

1) A completed application form; Accepted from December 1, 2012 - June 14, 2013

2) An essay about the impact of homelessness on the their lives and their desire to attend college (500-1,000 words; please see essay evaluation criteria listed below);

3) An official or unofficial school transcript, include class ranking if available; and

4) A minimum of one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or other adult

How to Apply (Deadline- June 21, 2013)

Please send us a short essay answering the following 3 part question:

What are your most important extracurricular or community activities? What made you join these activities? What made you continue to contribute to them?

#4 Image de Idaho deadline April 30

Two Hispanic community volunteer contributions are required. Two page essay about these two events and who they benefitted, including dates, organization name, results, etc.

#5- Welding Scholarship

If you change your field of study to something other than welding, you will forfeit any future assistance from the AWS Foundation.

Personal Statement

Write down your ambitions, goals, background and other factors that will help the selection committee understand your commitment to pursuing welding education. If you have had prior welding experience, you must indicate how your proposed welding curriculum and chosen school will help you fulfill your educational goals.
