You have probably heard of the song, “On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me… a partridge in a pear tree” etc. Just imagine if your true love actually paid for all the items in the song, how much would that be??? Would your true love be broke???
Task - Part A
I challenge you to figure out how much it would cost your true love to purchase all the gifts from the 12 days of Christmas. Below you will find a chart that gives current prices of all items. Please follow the steps below to complete your task. You may use a calculator. Remember to use the 4 steps to solve this problem.

1. Use the Chart attached and/or the internet links on our class website to calculate the cost of the 12 Days of Christmas. Use

3. Execute your strategy by showing your work in an organized way.
4. Your final answer must include:
a. The total cost for each gift, each set of gifts, and total cost
b. The number of gifts purchased each day
c. The total gifts at the end of the 12th day

Now that you have calculated the cost for the traditional 12 days of Christmas, it is your turn to rewrite the song. You will be able to choose 12 gifts for your own true love. Let’s see if YOU will be able to afford them all!
