The young individual presenting you with this letter is a member of the Juneau Douglas High School Football Team. Every year, we raise money to support our program, which is one of the most unique in the nation, as it receives limited school district funding.

The Crimson Bears looks forward to another successful season. Players have been working extremely hard during the off-season with their academics, and are dedicated to maintaining and improving their physical agility, weight lifting, and speed training skills.

They are starting off on a new journey in 2013, as the Bears are moving from the Railbelt (along with North Pole) into the newly expanded Southeast Conference. They have another tough schedule lined up for 2013, as the Bears will host two out of state teams (Viewpoint, CA and Fife, WA), as well as some other familiar foes from Colony and Wasilla.

The Crimson Bears take the lead for State of Alaska in game attendance averaging nearly 1,500 spectators per game. The program book and banners will be available for all Varsity and Junior Varsity home games, including any home playoff game. We plan to have them available for our home opener against the Viewpoint, CA on August 23rd.

In order to make the 2013 season outstanding, we ask you for your help and support. Our team is fully self-supporting and must raise funds for travel, equipment, and other items to run our program such as, officials and EMTs.

Your advertisement in our program book and/or banner makes you a valued member of the Crimson Bear championship team*.

At JDHS, we run a philosophy-based football program. We provide the opportunity for student-athletes to improve their self-esteem, self-motivation, work ethics, teamwork, sportsmanship, goal setting skills, and interpersonal skills. Our players must remain drug, alcohol, and tobacco free, and must meet academic, attendance, and discipline standards established by JDHS and the Alaska Student Activities Association in order to participate.
