Michael J. Entringer Scholarships
The financial scholarships are awarded in memory of Mike Entringer with proceeds from the annual Mike Entringer Basketball Classics sponsored by the Region II South Dakota High School Basketball Officials.
Mike officiated football and basketball for 15 years. He began his career by volunteering to officiate junior varsity football and basketball for schools in the area around Colman. Throughout the years, he officiated numerous high school football games in the southeast part of SD including area playoff games. In addition, he worked many Class “B” and Class “A” region basketball tournament games in the area surrounding Colman.
His dedication showed at all levels that he officiated, whether it was junior high, junior varsity or the varsity. Mike enjoyed working with the players, coaches and fans; he was able to gain their respect year after year. Mike continued his involvement as an avid sport fan and official until his death on September 18, 1990.

Eligibility
1. Applicants must be a graduating senior from a participating school in the Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Basketball Classics and Brookings High School.
2. Participated in high school sports for two or more years, and exhibited good sportsmanship. Participation includes athletes, cheerleaders, student managers and statisticians.
3. Scholarship funds must be used for post secondary education expenses in the first year following graduation.
