As one of the largest stocking suppliers of hoists, parts, and accessories in the United States, Ace has earned a reputation throughout the industry as your first call for overhead cranes, hoists, and services.Modernization CapabilitiesIn direct response to your requirements, Ace also features a full time modernization crew specifically geared for the electrical and mechanical modernization and repair of overhead bridge cranes exceeding capacities of 100 tons. Ace’s modernization crew is composed of a full time project manager, dedicated engineers, electrical and mechanical lead technicians, certified welders, and skilled mechanics and fabricators.Recent projects Ace has completed include:Workflow design and Installation of 76 cranes in a new Flexible Maintenance Facility for Army Depot.Engineering study, survey, and significant completion of repairs and power bar install for (5) 1,000 ft haunched runway systems for (15) total 100, 300, and 800 ton crane systems during plant rebuild and modernization.Modernization of ten (10) 30-60 ton overhead bridge cranes. Modernizations included replacement and installation of new AC vector controls, operator cab, brakes, wire ropes, bearings, seals, couplings, drum, lifting sheaves, and bridge rail. Complete refurbishment and machining of gearboxes, motors, and trolley and bridge wheels was also completed during modernization. Inspection and load test completed at conclusion of project.Modernization significantly completed of (1) 200/100/25 ton AC/DC crane. Modernization included replacement and installation of DSD Solid State Drive system for DC Hoist Controls. Installation of AC Vector bridge and trolley controls. Additional modernization included new radio control, brakes, wire ropes, bearings, seals, (4) bridge motors, (2) trolley motors, and couplings. Repair and refurbishment of gearboxes, hoist motors, and trolley and bridge wheels was also completed. Inspection and load test completed at conclusion of project.Modernization of (1) 400 ton DC crane. Modernization included replacement and installation of DC Solid State Drive System, operator cab, radio control, brakes, wire ropes, bearings, seals, and couplings. Complete refurbishment and machining of gearboxes, motors, and trolley and bridge wheels was also completed during modernization. Inspection and load test completed at conclusion of project.Modernization significantly completed of (1) 800 ton bridge crane. Modernization included new controls, radio, brakes, wire ropes, bearings, and gearbox rebuilds of existing components. Load test and inspection completed at conclusion of project.Electrical power feed engineering and modernization of 110 ton Intake Gantry Crane. Installation of heavy duty, powered mono-spiral cable reel (SSPC-1,2 &3) to replace existing loose wire feed.Repair and consultation to bring (13) 100-250 ton DC crane systems in wind turbine production facility up to current electrical and mechanical design standards. Repairs included items such as replacement of exposed bare wire conductors, replacement brakes, new radio controls, new brakes, new resistors, etc.Inspection and Load Test Capabilities:Ace has over 60 fully trained and qualified crane and rigging gear inspectors. Further, Ace developed the Certified Crane Care Inspection program to reduce total cost of ownership relating to overhead material handling equipment. By effectively combining Ace's technician training, customer operator training, considerations surrounding site safety and reliability, industry best practices, preventative and predictive maintenance, and OSHA and ANSI code compliance and recordkeeping requirements; Ace's Certified Crane Care program is designed to extend equipment life and reduce total cost of ownership over the life-cycle of the equipment.Further Ace technicians often perform Load Tests of cranes, hoists, and rigging equipment to ANSI/ASME code compliance standards. Load Tests are performed using certified test beds, certified test weights, and water bags with certified flow meters and specific gravity measurement devices.
