Code to determine if course is a lecture or contains a laboratory component.

Values:

C = Combination lecture and laboratory

L = Laboratory course

A blank lab code indicates the course is a lecture only.

9. ID_COURSE Number 7

System-generated number to track course transactions within the SCNS database. This is not the eight alphanumeric course number.

10. IN_HONORS_COURSE Char 1

Indicator to show if an institution course is identified as an “honors” course.

Values:

Y = Honors course

N = Not an honors course

11. CD_COURSE_STATUS Char 3

Code indicating the status of an institution course.

Values:

A = Active

D = Discontinued

P = Pending

12. IC_DS_TITLE Char 150

Text field displaying the institution course title.

13. DS_COURSE_CREDIT Char 6

Text field displaying the institution course credit. This field is for college credit and college or vocational preparatory credit.

14. DS_CLOCK_HOURS Char 6

Text field displaying the institution course clock hours. This field is only for Postsecondary Adult Vocational courses.

15. CD_CREDIT_TYPE Char 3

Code indicating the type of credit for an institution course.

Values:

CC = College Credit

CP = College Preparatory

I = Institutional Credit

P = Postsecondary Adult Vocational

V = Vocational Preparatory

16. DT_EFFECTIVE Char 8

Date field displaying the effective date of an institution course. An effective date may be before, on, or after today’s date. Courses with effective dates in the future are valid numbers but are considered “pending” courses.

17. DT_DISCONTINUED Char 8

The date an institution course was placed in “Discontinued” status. These courses are retained on the database but are not currently offered at an institution. Future discontinue dates indicate an active course that will be discontinued at that future date.

18. DT_CREATED Char 8

The date an institution course record was created.

19. DT_CHANGED Char 8

The last date an institution course record was modified.

20. IN_ Rule 6A-10.030 Char 1

An indicator displaying if an institution course has been identified as partially fulfilling requirements of Rule 6A-10.030.

Values:

Y = Gordon Rule course

N = Not a Gordon Rule course

21. IN_Rule 6A-10.030_WRITING Char 1

An indicator displaying if an institution course designated as a Rule 6A-10.030 course also has been identified as fulfilling requirements of the college-level mathematics and writing requirements for the Associate in Arts and baccalaureate degrees.

Values:

Y = meets requirements of Rule 6A-10.030 of college-level mathematics or writing requirements

N = does not meet requirements of Rule 6A-10.030 of college-level mathematics or writing requirements

Indicator displaying if an institution has identified the institution course as partially fulfilling the Communications portion of the general education requirement.

Values:

Indicator displaying if an institution has identified the institution course as partially fulfilling the Humanities portion of the general education requirement.

Date indicating the transfer status effective date. Institution courses taken before this date are not guaranteed transfer and must be evaluated by the receiving institution.

The Id_Course is a system generated number to track institution courses. This maintains a link between Id_Course records to track course number changes.

30. CS_DS_TITLE Char 150

A text field displaying the statewide, or generic, title for that course number.

31. IN_COMMON_PREREQ Char 1

Indicator showing if the course is identified as a common prerequisite for at least one program.

Values:

Y = Course is a common prerequisite for at least one program

N = Course is not a common prerequisite for any program

32. IN_DUAL_ENROLLMENT Char 1

Indicator showing if the course can be offered for dual enrollment. Typically, any course that is not college preparatory or physical education activity-based is eligible for dual enrollment.

Values:

Y = May be offered for dual enrollment

N = May not be offered for dual enrollment

33. CD_HIGH_SCHOOL_CREDIT Char 4

Code showing the high school credit awarded for completion of this course via dual enrollment.

35. IN_WORK_BASED_LEARN Char 1

A course that engages students in work-based learning, defined under §446.0915(1), F.S., for more than 50% of its statute-required instructional hours. Estimation of hours is permitted. On-campus, virtual, simulated, and unpaid activities are permissible. The following do not meet the definition of work-based learning: job shadowing, mentoring, workplace tours, and other activities that do not involve “firsthand experience with tasks required in a given career field.”
