Ser with adjectives

? You can describe a person using the verb ser followed by an adjective. An adjective is a word that describes what someone or something is like.

Enrique es gracioso.

Nosotros somos inteligentes.

Enrique is funny.

We are intelligent.

? The subject pronoun can be eliminated if it's clear who the subject is.

Gender and adjective agreement

? Nouns and pronouns that refer to men and boys are masculine. amigo ?l Alejandro

? Nouns and pronouns that refer to women and girls are feminine. amiga ella Adriana

? Adjectives describe nouns. They have different forms that match the gender of a noun or pronoun.

Masculine: Alejandro es alto. Feminine: Adriana es alta.

? Adjectives that end in -e and most adjectives that end in a consonant have the same masculine and feminine forms.

?l es intelectual/inteligente. Ella es intelectual/inteligente.

? Exceptions: Adjectives that end in -or and adjectives of nationality that end in a consonant form the feminine by adding an -a.
