What is the CLEP?
The CLEP is a 120 computer based question Spanish Language exam. The exam covers language skills usually learned from the end of the first year through the second year of college study, including listening and reading skills. The score for this exam will determine whether credit is awarded for two or four semesters. The exam is 90 minutes long and is administered in three separately timed sections.

Section 1: Listening 15%
Section 2: Listening 25%
Section 3: Reading
→Part A: Vocabulary and Structure 16%
→Part B: Cloze Passage 20%
→Part C: Reading Comprehension 24%
*Why take the CLEP?
You can earn up to 12 college credits from one exam which will save you money!
When is the CLEP?
The CLEP will be given in May or June-TBA
How much does the CLEP cost?
The cost of the CLEP will be split between the student and the district.
The student is responsible for paying 60% of the testing fees and FCS is responsible for the remaining 40%. (This is subject to change)

Do all students in Spanish V have to participate in CLEP class activities even if they choose not to take the test?
YES- all students taking Spanish V must engage in ALL CLEP activities and test preparation whether you take the exam or not!

*Please be aware that all students who did not score higher than an 85 on the NYS Spanish Regents Exam must take a foreign language in college.
*Earning 6-12 college credits in high school will save you a lot of time, money and stress!
*Not all colleges accept CLEP credits. Do your research and see if the college you are interested in accepts CLEP!
