Qualifications Essential

Bachelors degree in the field of education. A valid Washington State teaching certificate. Endorsement in Special Education Ability to establish positive discipline procedures. Ability to establish relationships with students, parents and community. Willingness to be involved with school reform activities aimed at ensuring student success.

Preferred

K-8 elementary education endorsement Successful teaching experience at the elementary school level. A demonstrated ability to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds. A demonstrated ability to motivate, discipline, and interact with students in a productive manner. Knowledge of benchmarks and ability to ensure student success on state testing. Ability to speak Spanish Experience working with students with Autism

Specific Duties

Plan, implement, and evaluate classroom instruction and activity programs consistent with building and adopted district curriculum.

Diagnose and prescribe learning programs for individual and groups of students based on aptitude, interest and level of achievement.

Provide for individual needs of assigned students, cooperate with building principal and staff in implementation of comprehensive instructional activities program.

When appropriate, provide individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgrounds.

Carry out the assignments of the building principal.
