News from the Board - Important

Covenants and By Laws

Status on the Update on the Covenants and

Bylaws:

We still need votes

for the restated

Gatewood

Covenants and By

Laws.

The

Covenants really

need to be updated with current Indiana law. Please

take the time to vote. One major amendment is to

establish a "Reserve Fund". A percentage of our

annual assessment would be put aside to cover any

unexpected and non-budgeted expense. As

Gatewood ages, more trees are going to have to be

removed, more issues with maintaining the three

ponds, etc. With a Reserve Fund in place to cover

these expenses, it would be less likely there would

have to be a special assessment besides our regular

annual assessment. If you need a ballot please feel

to contact any Board member or Renee Wolfe at

AMI.

The Annual HOA meeting will be held October 1, 2015 at Meadow Brook, 11011 Village Sq. (just east of Allisonville Rd. off of Easy St.) at 7:30PM. Hope to see you there!

Any questions, please contact Renee Wolf at Association Management rwolf@ 317915-0400 x105. As a reminder, our board members are: Mary Myers, President; Herschel Roll, Vice President; NAME???????, Secretary; Shawn Robertson, Webmaster; Jill Young, Treasurer; and, Members-at-Large: Bill Adams and Peach Bower.

If you have an article or a recipe you want to share, please send it to Renee Wolf and ask her to forward to the Board!

City Government

Academy (CGA) is

an

eight-week

course that allows

residents of Fishers

to

become

"students"

and

examine the inner workings of city government. Students

will hear from staff, tour city facilities, and engage in the

collaborative city governing process. At the end of the

course, students should have a greater understanding of

how Fishers government works for its residents. CGA

meets Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. Most sessions

take place at City Hall but several evenings are off-site

visits to the City's Public Works Garage and various off-

site visits. For more information, go to the Fishers Web

site and look for Citizens Academies under the Public

Safety tab, then click on Police.

In 2014, over 200 trees were sold in Hamilton County through this program.

All trees are $24.00 a piece and will arrive in 3 gallon containers and be approximately 3-5 feet tall at delivery.

Home Smoke Detectors

The majority of fatalities that occur in home fires happen at night when people are asleep. Contrary to popular belief, the smell of smoke may not wake a sleeping person. Poisonous gases and smoke produced by a fire can

numb the senses and quickly put you into a deeper sleep. By sounding an alarm and alerting you and your family to a fire in time to escape, household smoke detectors can cut your chances of dying in a home fire by approximately 40 percent. Installation: Smoke detectors should be installed in hallways just outside where the bedrooms are located in singlestory homes. A minimum of two detectors are recommended for two-story homes. On the bottom floor, place it near the bedrooms. If there are no bedrooms downstairs, detectors should be installed in or near living areas, dens or family rooms. On the

second floor, detectors should be placed just outside the bedrooms. Detectors should NOT be installed near kitchens or heat ducts where fumes could set off false alarms.
