Bronson Bike Parts - To build a Bronson Bike you will need:

 

A 1969 Sportster.

Other years can be used and any level of authenticity is OK.

The replicas in our group are 1968, 69, 70, 74, 75, 99, and ____?

Sportsters had the shift lever on the right through 1974.

Turn signals began in 1974 (I believe)

Aluminum rims began with the AMF models in _ _ _ _ ?

In no particular order, here are the parts -

An Aluminum 21" / 40 spoke Akront front wheel with deep shoulders

From what I've been able to find the prices for new Morads run between $155.00 and $199.00

There are reproduction Akront decals available to put on them.

Fork boots or gators, are getting harder to find. Billy G used the ones off of a Triumph. Also, those from Rancho Shocks for off road trucks can be used and available through Harley Davidson part number # 46001-54.

Brackets can be made from standard aluminum flat stock available at a hardware store or made by Billy Gibson.

Note: Most photos of the bike make it look red, however, official “Bronson Red” is more orange looking as confirmed by Jerry Culwell who helped mix the paint with Michael Parks and a West Coast Harley Dealer. He did all the painting on the bikes during the filming of the show.

“All Seeing Eye” Stickers from: ______________________ or a local printing/sign shop can duplicate the stickers if you have an original copy. The original size was 4 ¾” on all sides. The 6” size looks good as well. We are researching a new source to confirm they are gas resistant and can be clear coated over.

Dark navy tee shirt, no pocket. ( this is slightly unusual as Bronson was a smoker and most smokers want a pocket in their tee shirts

Blue jeans.

Navy Blue watch cap

Wayfarer type sunglasses

Brown leather coat. ( can have either corduroy collar or a fur type collar )

Brown leather boots ( square toe )

Red open face helmet with no snaps

Racing gloves, white on bottom, black or blue on top?

Also correct is the TV pilot movie Bronson wear:  Brown Bomber style jacket with leather collar (model box photo) , black boots with straps and buckles, and I believe a black long sleeve sweater and of course brown corduroys.
