Xavier UniversityMaster of ScienceHuman Resource DevelopmentStep 3: Next Steps for New HRD StudentsWelcome, Again, HRD Students! You have already confirmed your enrollment (Step 1) and set up your Xavier Account (Step 2). Great! The next steps in the process follow….. SKIP Step 4: Register for Classes. Attached is a Registration Form for the Fall. It is extremely important that you complete this form and scan/email it to Dr. Brenda Levya-Gardner ASAP at gardner@xavier.edu or mail to Dr. Brenda Levya-Gardner, Xavier University, 3800 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45202-3211. You do not register online for your first semester’s courses. Fall registration begins on April 4th. Until this step is complete, you will not be able to complete any of the next steps. Step 5: Learn About Payment. After you are registered for the Fall, Step 5 will allow you to select your payment plans and review tuition and fees. You won’t be able to set up a payment plan until your registration is active. Step 6: Get Ready for Classes discusses the use of Canvas, our online course management system. The HRD program uses Canvas, but not in the way described online. You will not be registered in the HRD Canvas Course we set up until the first week of classes; you can, however, explore the general use of Canvas. You should order your parking pass in advance of class. The links are in Step 6. Again, you have to have registered for courses to buy your parking pass. The Student ID card will be provided to you the first weekend of classes; you do not need to come onto campus in advance to get it.Step 6 also gives you information about course materials, ID card and Parking. Below you will find important information regarding textbooks:Textbooks will be available for purchase in our classroom the first weekend of classes (and may be charged to your Bursar account if you’ve been awarded financial aid for books), or you can purchase them on your own before classes begin. You will not be able to purchase them through the Bookstore in advance of class. Xavier Bookstore prices are normally the retail prices. The following is the list of books we will be using the first semester of class; we will use these books in other courses in the program as well so renting them does not work. If you do purchase them on your own, make sure you receive the correct book; it should match exactly one of the ISBN numbers I’ve provided. If they don’t, it’s probably a different edition—or book!
