Hebrews 10:25 is an increasingly neglected verse among professed believers, "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Unfortunately so much of Scripture is read as an option to either accept or deny depending on one's agenda or priorities. Solomon presented this truth in Ecclesiastes 12:13, "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear (reverence) God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." The call to assemble is vital to one's spiritual life and must not be looked upon as something one can take or leave. The writer in Hebrews is led to frame this verse, Hebrews 10:25, in the context of the last days just prior to coming of the Lord. If you have studied Scripture concerning His return you will see that the `signs' point to the truth that His return is `soon'. One sign Jesus pointed out in Matthew 24:12 was this truth, "And because iniquity (immorality, evil, crime, wickedness) shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." Once again notice Hebrews 10:25, "...exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." The word `exhort' means to encourage, warning, strengthen or comfort. To all the members of Springhill Baptist Church, in light of the coming of Jesus, I encourage you "Not to forsake the assembling of yourselves for corporate worship."

Administration // by Lanny Duncan

The Lord has allowed us to start another year here at Springhill. Looking back on this past year, it is very evident that God's hand was upon us. He blessed our ministry and allowed us to be a light for Him in our community. I would like to say a special thank-you to those who work and serve in our various ministries. These ministries have been a reflection in our community and God will bless those who serve as well as our church. I would like to ask our church to pray for the individuals who serve, that God will give them wisdom and strength to continue to carry out their assignment they feel God has given them. Every ministry here at Springhill is important and is coveted by the prayers of the church body. There is one ministry that everyone can participate in whether in a leadership or participant role, and that is Sunday School. We have classes for all ages. During this hour we study the Bible and gain a better understanding of God's Word. Sunday School is where, in a small group atmosphere, you can pray for each other and develop relationships you might otherwise not have the opportunity to do so. If you are currently not attending Sunday School, let me encourage you to start. If you have a question about which class you would attend, please feel free to call me here at the office 501-679-2320.

Music // by Ross Burgess

Greetings from the choir loft at Springhill Baptist Church! The adult choir played a major role in Easter services this year with two songs that focused on the Cross of Christ and His great sacrifice. We ended the song service with a beautiful quartet presentation of a song that reminded us of God's faithfulness. We will continue to worship and tell the story of Jesus and His salvation through our music at Springhill. Please come and join us. There is a seat in the choir for YOU.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am so ready for Spring to be here. This past quarter has certainly been a cold one. However, the cold doesn't stop our Senior Saints from getting out and enjoying our activities. This past quarter we enjoyed a great breakfast cooked by our Senior Saints Committee members. What a great start to your Saturday. In February, we attended the Annual Quartet Convention at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Plummerville. We are looking forward to having the Heaven's Echo group come in July to put on a concert. Be sure to mark your calendar. March brought out a large group to attend Murry's Dinner Theater. We all enjoyed the hilarious play "Rex's Exes" . We have many more activities planned this next quarter. Come out and enjoy a fish fry in April, travel to Branson for the show "Joseph" in May, and a fun filled trip to Keo in June. Watch for details for each event in the weekly bulletin. Remember anyone over 55 years of age are invited to attend any of the events. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact any member of the Senior Saints Committee: David & Brenda Mahan, Jerry & Christy Clifton, Bruce & Glenda Sims, Ronnie & Sue Tilley, Roland & Cindy Adams.

Children // by Katie Patrom

Spring has Sprung in the Children's department! We just wrapped up Spring Fling and Easter Extravaganza! Spring Fling was March 20th during Spring Break week. We had a Hawaiian Luau for children 4th grade and younger in the BFC! They had a great time learning about the "Fruits of the Spirit" and playing games. The g.a.p. kids (5th-7th grade) went on a scavenger hunt with the youth group! They had a great time and running around Greenbrier doing various things! Easter Extravaganza was a little different this year! In all the years I have helped plan our egg hunts, we have never had rain! We had rain, rain, and more rain this year! We moved our egg hunt inside and had an "egg roll" up on the track! The kids had fun and so did the parents watching from the floor! We also had a Jerusalem Marketplace this year inside the BFC. The kids could go through the different booths. The kids made harps, learned how to kneed bread, write their names in Greek, and much more! Overall it was a great success with around 200 in attendance. The next few months are going to be filled with several activities for our kiddos! April 21st will be a dessert auction for the GMA girls in the youth building. Several of you have signed up to bring desserts and they will be auctioned off to help raise funds for the girls to go to camp in Gary, Texas in June. Also they are raising money for their mission project! Awana will be having the Grand Prix race and Closing program in May. Everyone is getting their cars built and revved up for the big race! Keep watch in the bulletin for dates and information on these two activities. Summer Bash is something new this year! It just so happens that the last day of school is Wednesday May 29th.....so what could be better than a fun celebration with your friends at church that night! Details of the event will be in the bulletin within the next few weeks! Church Camp is changing up this year! I have been in contact with Brain Ratliff (Children's Director at Antioch) the past few months! We are planning a church camp together for June 3rd-6th grade. This camp will only be for 3rd-6th graders (grade just completed). It will be at Cold Springs Camp in Conway Arkansas. We are meeting again this month so I will have more information about cost a little later! Make plans to attend because it will be awesome! VBS June 24th-28th! Kingdom Rock is our theme this year. We will be decorating with castles, knights, horses, and of course Chadder the Chipmunk! Jon Patrom, Stephanie Duncan, Jennifer Gill, and I had the privilege of going to a VBS Fun Shop at Central Baptist Church a few weeks ago. We learned so much about this year's VBS and how to adapt it to ours! We are super excited about several new things that will be implemented. If you would like to volunteer please see one of the directors: Lisa VanEvera-Preschool (4-5yrs before kindergarten, 3 years and below must be accompanied by an adult unless they are working in VBS) Jennifer Hill-K-2nd grades, Jennifer Gill-3rd-6th grades. We have a full schedule ahead but I can't help remembering our church theme , "Jehovah Jireh, the Lord will

Provide". The Lord has provided for the children's department by bringing wonderful volunteers and families

here to make this ministry a blessing in His eyes.

Youth // by Colin Stanton

What a great start to the year we've had in the Youth and College Department! Thanks to the generosity of our church, we were able to fund a renovation of the youth building. If you have not seen the updates to our fellowship and worship spaces I encourage you to go check them out! We have new furniture, paint, a new sound system, and a really cool chalkboard wall for announcements. We've also taken the next step in our branding and identity plan. Last fall during our senior retreat, we got together with all the high school senior leaders in our group to come up with a new name and logo for our youth group. We decided to go with the name IGNITE and follow the theme of our church. We have printed new banners that hang in the youth building, and have new t-shirts with our name and logo (they're six dollars and for sale to anyone who wants one). Again, come by and see what your commitment to our youth ministry has enabled us to accomplish! We are so thankful for and proud of our new space! Our small group bible study is going strong and we continue to have great study and worship time in Ignite. Our college group has been studying Luke's gospel this year, and will continue to do so over the summer for those students who will be staying in Conway after the school year ends. We are looking forward to SOAR this July! If you or your child would like to go to SOAR with us this year, please see me for details. There are certain requirements that students must meet in order to be eligible to go this year, so you don't want to delay! The trip is open to 7-12 grade students only. Marla and I again are so grateful for the love and support our church family has shown us. She is a huge help in this ministry, and I couldn't do it without her. We appreciate your prayers and look forward to what God is going to do for the youth of Springhill Baptist Church!
