THE CHICAGO CATHOLIC LEAGUE ANNOUNCES EXPANSION PLANS

The member schools of the Chicago Catholic League (CCL), rich in history, steeped in tradition, and committed to the promotion of fair, formidable competition are proud to announce plans to expand school membership in this elite conference beginning in the 2017-2018 school term.

The CCL has sanctioned a representative group of its Principals and Athletic Directors to serve on a "Chicago Catholic League Expansion Committee." This committee has been charged with the responsibilities of responding to inquiries from interested schools, evaluating formal expressions of interest filed by designated officials (i.e. President, Principal, or Athletic Director) of schools seeking admission to the CCL, and making recommendations to the full membership. School administrators authorized to cast ballots on behalf of their respective conference school are expected to carefully consider and vote no later than April 20, 2016. Although the expansion committee invites inquiries from all interested schools, consideration is expected to be extended to schools reflecting the following profile:

o a strong Catholic/Spiritual identity; o relative geographic proximity to current CCL schools; o a three-year pattern of relatively stable student enrollment; o capacity to compete in all core sports; and o contribution to the parity of competition among CCL schools.

Schools requesting formal consideration for admission to the Chicago Catholic League are required to submit an application no later than March 15, 2016.
