Title I Parent and Family EngagementPolk County Public Schools2017-2018 Polk County Public TITLE I Schools Lake Alfred Polytech Academy School Compact for LearningDistrict and School-based Title I Parent and Family Engagement Programs in Polk County Public Schools will strive to BUILD RELATIONSHIPS in order to create real family engagement for every child, every family, every teacher, every day.This compact outlines how the parents/family, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement. By linking learning, the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help our students achieve the state’s high standards for the school year.We will support learning in the following ways;Staff ResponsibilitiesParent/Family ResponsibilitiesStudent ResponsibilitiesCurriculum-High Academics*Ensure high quality instruction which will be provided in a supportive, safe, and effective learning environment in order for the students to meet Florida’s student academic standards.*Ask for help from the school to assist child with homework or projects.*Establish a routine at home for completing assignments and discussing school.*Pay attention in every class every day.*Talk to teachers and counselors about grades and ask for help if needed.*Read for 30 minutes a day, outside of school.Monitoring Student Progress*Send Report Cards and Interims home.*Have staff available for pre-arranged consultations with family at various times.*Hold trainings and allow opportunities for family to utilize technology to monitor student progress via .*Allow family to visit and observe classroom activities when informed.*Request a conference if there are concerns about child’s progress (863) 295-5988.*Ensure child attends school regularly, on time and well prepared.*Monitor child’s progress, attendance and discipline records through the use of the Parent Portal at .*Contact the school if there are any questions or concerns.*Share Report Cards and Interims the same day they are received.*Share with family grades, behaviors and attendance, even tardiness.*Monitor grades, attendance, and disciplinary records through the use of the Student Portal at .*Take testing and progress monitoring seriously.
