Introductory Seminar, Level 1: Homeopathy is widely used around the world.

Between 25-50% of people in Europe report using homeopathy. While its usage in the United States remains at a lower level, many patients are turning to health care professionals for advice in homeopathy.

Homeopathic prescriptions appear to stimulate a healing process. How homeopathic medicines achieve this is not fully understood, but a number of credible models exist. These medicines are selected on the basis of their similarity to the pattern of illness. This therapeutic method is known as the Law of Similars and is based on observations in many thousands of patients over many years. Homeopathic medicines are used in a specially prepared way to mirror the illness upon itself and stimulate a spontaneous resolution, but without toxicity or side effects.

In many countries Homeopathy is practiced side by side with conventional medicine. Those who learn how to prescribe homeopathically experience a unique and a refreshing approach to disease management. The scientific evidence strongly suggests that homeopathy has effects over and above those of a placebo. There is already ample scientific evidence showing that homeopathy can safely reduce suffering and pain in a range of acute and chronic illnesses.

The participants should be able to perform the following after attending this Level 1 course:

1. Describe patterns of use and the prevalence of homeopathy. 2. Assess the effectiveness/efficacy and safety of homeopathy. 3. Explain basic principles and philosophy of homeopathy. 4. Review the process of evaluation and management in homeopathy. 5. Discuss the role of homeopathy for common health problems. 6. Explain general issues concerning advice to patients interested in using homeopathy.

Advanced Seminar, Level 2: This seminar concerns a range of homeopathic

medicines that were intensively studied for more than half a century and now have more clinical evidence in their favor than many of our more cherished remedies.

When these medicines are prescribed accurately, and at the right time, they can profoundly affect the outcome of more traditional prescribing methods. This is because many patients are hosts to a highly disordered bowel microflora which makes them systemically unwell and undermines their response to well chosen `classical' treatments.

Case reports and scientific studies have now been reconciled with our 21st century knowledge of bowel microecology and its role in health and disease.

In the course of the seminar we will discuss the source of the materials themselves, their history, and clinical syndromes; their materia medica picture, and their relationships with standard materia medica. We will also explore aspects of prescribing methodology including: timing, dosage methods, selective repertorization techniques.

A detailed core text and a newly compiled repertory will also be presented. The latest version of the repertory will be provided to participants on CD. The nosodes repertory and course support materials contain Dr. Malcolm's own additions and other information that is not generally available in the existing literature. This course has an accompanying core text full of case transcripts, color pictures, materia medica and more.

The participants should be able to perform the following after attending this Level 2 course:

1. Describe patterns of use and prevalence of the bowel nosodes. 2. Assess the effectiveness/efficacy and safety of the bowel nosodes. 3. Explain basic principles and philosophy of using the bowel nosodes in homeopathy. 4. Review the process of evaluation and management of chronic and blocked cases in homeopathy. 5. Discuss the role of the bowel nosodes for chronic health problems in homeopathy. 6. Explain general issues concerning advice to patients interested in using the bowel

nosodes in homeopathy.

Statement of Need: IBS and common GI conditions are poorly treated in conventional practice and bowel dysbiosis is greatly under diagnosed. This course will provide clear guidance both on diagnosis and on the treatment strategies which can be implemented in practice. Target Audience: Primary Care Physicians and Allied Health Care Professionals.
