JOB DESCRIPTION: In charge for the Ships Clearance, dealing with CIQ, Embarkation and Disembarkation Procedures as required by the Port Agents and Authorities (Immigration, Customs and Quarantine Requirements). Purser is responsible in liaising with Port Agents and ensure that requirements are exceeded to ensure smooth port of calls. 2nd in command of the Purser’s Department and reporting to Chief Purser who is over all in charge of Hotel Administration of the ship. Responsible to ensure that all procedures related to Ships Clearances and Passenger Service up on Front Office and Back Office administration are met and satisfactorily completed according to the company’s standard. Must ensure that all guest’s need are catered smoothly and professionally.

Specific duties:

❖ In charge for the daily communication to the Port Agents who liaises with immigration, Customs and Quarantine Authorities for the various requirements.

❖ Prompt and Correct data information and submission of requirements are imperative.

❖ Prepares passenger manifest and required format if the immigration Authorities of port where ship will dock.

❖ Prepares passenger reports – embarkation, disembarkation, manifest and declarations.

❖ Clears the ship for all requirements of Authorities in order to land Guests and Crew, Collecting and Distribution of Passports (Safekeeping of travel documents) and checking the necessary visa required to the next port of calls.
