SCHOOL NEWS

Check-Out Policy for Friday, November 16 On Friday, November 16, any student wishing to sign out of school must be signed out from the office by a parent. No students will be given permission to sign out from school via phone call or written note. Please note that all check-outs on the Paris Avenue campus will take place in the middle school office this Friday.

Open House Thank You Thank you to all of the students, parents and alumni who served as volunteers, tour guides and helpers at our Open House this week. We truly appreciate your support! Click here to see a photo gallery with highlights from the event.

Middle School Field Day We will have a Field Day for grades 5-7 on Friday, November 16. Students wear House t-shirts, gym shorts, tennis shoes to school. Accessories will not be allowed until lunchtime. Students may bring hair paint, headbands, wrist bands, sunglasses, etc. At lunchtime, Houses will meet to accessorize, supervised by the moderators. Games begin at 11:45 a.m. Students should bring a refillable bottle for water (please clearly put student's name on water bottle). Additional House t-shirts are available in M110 for $15. We are looking forward to a fun-filled field day!

Primary Thanksgiving Feast - Friday, November 16 Turkey, cornbread stuffing, sweet potatoes, veggies, and dessert will be served. Lunch will be the regular price for students and $6.50 for adults. Please RSVP so that we can adequately prepare for the day. Due to space limitations, each student is allowed two guests at the feast.

There will be three seatings for lunch: PK and K - 10:45 1st and 2nd - 11:45 3rd and 4th - 12:45

Primary students are dismissed following their lunchtime and there is no aftercare. If you have already responded, please disregard this email. We will also take our class pics and offer school picture retakes this day.

Lend Me a Tenor - Play When a series of events causes two men in Othello costumes to be chased by two women, each thinking she is with the other, hilarity ensues. Winner of three Tony Awards and four Drama Desk Awards. You won't want to miss this hilarious comedy performed by our Holy Cross Center Stage! Shows are November 29-December 2. Caroling Under the Oaks December 1 Holy Cross will hold its first Caroling Under Our Oaks on Saturday, December 1 from 4-6 p.m. There will be singing by our primary students, stories with Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate and cookies. Our male chorus will lead us in a community sing-along to kick off the Christmas season. The Lady Tigers and the

Fine Arts Department invite you to bring the family and join us as we light our tree and celebrate with our shepherds, angels, sheep and villagers! Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas Boutique & Brunch - Class Basket Donations Needed We are still in need of items for the class baskets. As a result, we are extending the due date for items to Friday, November 16. Items that correspond with your class theme are welcomed, as are cash donations. Please bring items for donation to your son's teacher. Please place cash donations in an envelope with your child's name, grade, and "Holiday Basket" on the front. The themes for the baskets are as follows with items we need most:

Pre-K and Kindergarten: Gift Wrapping. We have plenty of holiday wrapping paper, but still need birthday wrapping paper, scissors, sharpies, birthday gift bags, etc.

1st and 2nd Grades: Holiday Baking Basket. Baking sheets, aprons, muffin tins, holiday themed bake ware, Baking Accessories, Baking Mixes, Icings, Sprinkles, etc.

3rd and 4th Grades: Let's Read. Books for all age levels, Barnes and Noble gift cards.

5th Grade: Beer & Liquor Basket. Craft Beers, wine, champagne, any liquor, Martin Wine Cellar gift card.

6th Grade: New Orleans Basket. Pralines, New Orleans seasonings, hot sauce, gumbo bowls, New Orleans cookbook, Mixes such as jambalaya, gumbo, beignet, etc.

7th Grade: Game Basket. This class basket is complete.

8th Grade: Mommy Time Out. Bubble bath, beauty blender, night mask, spa gift card (EarthSavers, Belladonna, etc.), candles.

9th Grade: That's a Latte. K Cup carousel, french press coffee maker, K cups, gift cards to Starbucks, CC's and PJ's.

10th Grade: Gift Card Tree. Gift cards to the following: Subway, Smoothie King, Raising Canes, PJ's coffee, AMC Theatres, Ulta/Sephora, Whole Foods, Krispie Kreme.

11th Grade: Car Care. Glass cleaner, wheel/tire cleaner, air freshners, microfiber wash mop, gift cards for car washes (Safari, Pelican, etc.) and gift cards for gas (Shell, Exxon, etc.).

12th Grade: College Ready. Space saver bags, mini fridge, first aid kit, hangers, mini George Foreman Grill, mini Coffee maker.

Children's Hospital Toy Drive The Primary grades have chosen the Children's Hospital Toy Drive for our Christmas service project. The toys collected in this drive are distributed to patients during the Christmas season and throughout the rest of the year. If you would like to participate, please help your son select a toy to give to a child in need. Send this unwrapped toy to the cafeteria beginning Monday, November 26. The toys will be picked up for delivery on December 13.

Holy Cross Thanksgiving STEM Camp STEM Camp is not just in July! During the Thanksgiving Holiday, Holy Cross will be hosting its 1st annual Thanksgiving STEM Camp (9th STEM Camp in 8 years). Participants will discover Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics during a hands-on, fun-filled adventure. During the three days campers will explore STEM (throw in a little art and we'll explore STEAM) through interactive projects, experiments, computer animations, multi-media presentations, and robotics! WGNO Coats for Kids Campaign As part of our partnership with WGNO this year, Holy Cross is proud to be a sponsor of the Coats for Kids campaign. As you clean out your closets to prepare for the winter season, please consider donating

any gently used (or new) coats for this collection. Boxes will be located in the primary, middle and high school lobbies, and we will be collecting coats beginning on Monday, November 26. Thank you for your support!

Houses and Formation Families will be conducting Holiday Service Projects beginning Thursday, November 8.

All are invited to Evening with Moreau, a time of prayer and reflection, Wednesday November 14 from 67 p.m. in the Mission Suite. This month we will reflect on The Beatitudes.

Basketball Season Passes on Sale Now Holy Cross Basketball will be selling season passes for $100 per person. The pass is good for all Holy Cross home games from 5th grade through Varsity, as well as all Varsity District home and away games. Membership also includes a Holy Cross Basketball team Long Sleeve Tee Shirt.
