The guide will begin with the equipment you will need and how to make a basic latte. The basic latte will be necessary in making all of the holiday drinks. The pages to follow will contain the ingredients and instructions for each individual holiday latte. Instructions and equipment needed to make a basic coffee Frappuccino will be in the second chapter followed by the holiday Frappuccino instructions. The final chapter will be on how to make the holiday drinks that do not contain coffee. Each drink will have it’s own page with individual ingredients and instructions. This guide will be most beneficial to Starbucks employees, but anyone with similar equipment and ingredients can follow along.Automatic Espresso MachineMilk PitchersHot Cup Sizes: Tall, Grande, VentiEspresso BeveragesWhat you will need to make espresso beverages:Espresso machine equipped with espresso beans (preferably automatic)Milk steamer (typically attached to automatic espresso machine)Milk pitcher with markings for drink sizesLarge spoonMilk (whatever your preference)Cups (Tall, Grande, Venti)Lids (Tall, Grande, Venti)SleevesBasic Latte 1. The first step is steaming your milk. The pitcher you pour your milk into will be marked with lines to indicate the drink size. Insert the steam wand into the pitcher full of the milk of your choice, and pull down the handle to begin steaming. The automatic espresso machine has three settings, which is kids temperature, automatic and extra hot. Start by hovering the tip of the steam wand around the top of the milk, this is called aerating. Do this for about 7 seconds, then fully insert the steam wand and set the pitcher down. The steaming will automatically stop when the desired temperature is reached. 2. While your milk is steaming, you can pull your espresso shots into the cup. Since the machine we are using is automatic, all you have to do is make sure the machine is stocked with bean. There is a panel of buttons along the top for 1 or 2 shots of decaf, 2 or 4 shots of half-caf and 1, 2, 3, and 4 shots for regular. To pull the shots just push whichever button applies to your drink specifications. For a tall size you use one shot, for a grande or venti you will use two shots and for a venti iced drink you will use three. You can have regular shots, decaf or half-caf. Although the shots pour automatically, make sure the number in the top right hand corner on the screen is between 18-23 seconds. 3. After the shots are poured and the milk is done steaming, take the steam wand out of the pitcher. While pouring the milk into the cup of espresso cover the opening of the pitcher with the spoon so you hold back the foam until the very end so it ends up on the top of the milk. Finish your latte with a lid and a sleeve around the cup. Pumpkin Spice LatteWhat you will need:Everything you used to make a Latte (page 3)Pumpkin SauceWhip CreamPumpkin Spice Sprinkles1.
