Not Present: Scott Roe, Recording Secretary; Paul Fortino.Public: Two citizens of Evesham Township who were on a class assignment to live Tweet a public meeting.Meeting started at 7:08 pm.Reviewed February 26, 2018 Minutes and Motion to Approve. Motion by Allison Eckel; seconded by Jim Previti. All others in favor. There was no March meeting of the EDAC.Mike started the meeting with a detailed discussion of the Business Recruitment Prospectus currently in draft phase. Photographs are still being collected for inclusion in the Prospectus. Discussion ensued regarding the list of example businesses that will be included in the map of Medford business districts. Some changes to the list of businesses was made and some additional descriptive information regarding some of the businesses will be inserted. Discussion about using the list of businesses in the Prospectus to track all businesses in Medford. This issue was discussed at the last meeting and dialogue on the issue continued herein. To be further explored. The Board also discussed adding hot links to the document and possibly Google Maps links. The Prospectus will be primarily available on-line resource, with a few paper copies being made on an as needed basis. Suggestion made to list Township events in chronological order. Discussion and further consideration to be given to adding certain census data to the Prospectus in order to allow potential businesses to better understand the demographics of the Township when considering opening a business in Medford. The Board then discussed activity in the five business districts, with “Champions” reviewing current activity and issues in their respective district:Crossroads – Joe B.Expansion of Ginger Restaurant Route 70 Corridor – Pete J.Discussion of business vacancies; Progress on the opening of the Rehabilitation Center; Potential leasing of building behind Medport Diner; Starbucks to open in old Escape Fitness building. Medford Village – Beth P. and Mike P.Discussion regarding the new Library facility; Volunteer to refurbish Village Business Directory signage. Shops on Stokes – Allison E.McDonald’s remodel nearly complete. Tuckerton and Taunton – Jim P. Hardware store grand opening was a success. Board discussed old business including the Mayor’s concept of having a 3rd Thursday event on Main Street. The concept is still under consideration. There was no Council Sign Committee update. However, the Board discussed that business on Main Street are permitted to display an illuminated (non-flashing) “OPEN” sign. Allison reviewed her recent workshop and there was discussion of Allison possibly holding a similar seminar for the Rotary. Board discussed new business including the refurbishing of the Village Business Directory signage. Work to be completed by volunteers.
