Join Natural Lands staff and volunteers on some of our most beautiful wilderness areas and experience the trails at night! Advance registration required, space is limited. Natural Lands Special Programs

Crazy Cool Craniums Come play nature CSI and learn to identify animal skulls by looking at all the clues! Examining the teeth, eyes and other adaptations will help us discover whether they were carnivores, herbivores or omnivores oh my! You'll have the chance to handle real and replica skulls and even dissect an owl pellet in search of little rodent craniums! For children ages 9 and up, children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Highwaymen The Indian River School of Alfred "Bean" Backus produced many wonderful artists. Perhaps the most famous and prolific of his influences were an entrepreneurial group of talented African American artists who plied their trade along the old highwaycorridors of Central and Eastern Florida. Learn how Alfred Hair and the "Florida Highwaymen" revitalized 20th century folk art in a time of Southern racial and cultural tension.

Mayday Picnic Join us for a luncheon on the lawn with your favorite picnic blanket and a basket-lunch! We provide a traditional setting and outdoor Mayday games for the family to enjoy. Refreshing tea and lemonade provided by the Seminole County Historical Society.

Location: Museum of Seminole County History Date: Saturday, May 11, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Cost: Museum Admission. In honor of Mother's Day, mothers get into the event for free!

Little Wars at the Museum Design, print, and deploy your own set of toy soldiers, and command them in battle! The Museum of Seminole County History invites you to don your General's stars and try out this fun game of toy soldiers, over a hundred years old! Hats and monocles are encouraged for this traditional Edwardian pastime.

Seminole County Historical Society The Seminole County Historical Society hosts their regular Quarterly Meeting in the IFAS Extension Auditorium on August 20. Events and Activities for All Ages continued

"Expand Your Universe" this Summer at the Library (for all ages)

The Library's 2019 Summer Reading Program starts May 28th. Children, teens, and adults can participate in our special reading challenges, and keep reading to earn raffle tickets. Our Summer Reading theme this year is A Universe of Stories.

Children and teens receive a FREE book to keep, just for signing up. Children earn small prizes for each challenge completed. Teens can play our weekly reading scratch-off game, where they may instantly win a Starbucks card. Adults can submit brief book reviews to have a chance at winning a gift card too. Weekly prize raffles and grand prize raffles for all the age groups take place at each branch, so stop by your nearest library to join the fun!

Celebrate Summer at the library, and expand your universe! Kickoff parties will be held at all 5 library branch locations, May 28 - June 1. Summer Adventure Eco Camps (Ages 7 - 12) & Biology Bootcamp! (Ages 13 - 15)

At Summer Adventure Eco Camp you'll have fun while learning about the natural world! If your child enjoys being outdoors, this is the camp for him or her. Our week long day camps offer hands- on creative programming including hiking, nature crafts, hands-on experience with plants and animals, projects, experiments, arts & crafts, plus lots of fun and games! Have fun getting to know the animals that live at the Nature Center and be prepared to see amazing wildlife on the trails!
