However, the State Board will count up to one half (2,000 hours) of the experience requirement through academic or technical training directly related to the field for which the examination is requested, provided the academic or technical training is a minimum of 45 quarter hours or 30 semester hours. Once you have obtained your NC Plumbing License, some states may use your license for the hours their state requires for hands on training or educational training, which will allow you to take their licensing exam.
