FIRESAFETY INSPECTOR I CERTIFICATION - REQUIREMENTS

To be certified as a Firesafety Inspector I in the State of Florida, an individual must successfully complete a minimum of 200 hours of basic certification training for Firesafety Inspectors, or have received equivalent training in another state, and pass a state written examination.

Documentation of training is to be submitted with the required Application for Firesafety Inspector Certification Examination (DFS-K4-1023), Personal Inquiry Waiver (DFS-K4-1020), along with all other supporting documents, at least 10 business days prior to the scheduled test date.

Please note, the Firesafety Inspector I application requires that you submit fingerprints (digitally) Reference: 69A-37.0336, F.A.C.

Five courses (40 hour minimum each) are required for certification. The courses are offered at the Florida State Fire College, Colleges throughout the state, and some of the Certified Training Centers.
