RE: Fingerprints for 2013 renewals

Pursuant to Section 1520 of the Illinois Insurance Code 215 ILCS 5/1520(c) and (d), the Department is requiring all Public Insurance Adjusters renewing their 2013 license to be fingerprinted as part of the renewal process.

No license will be renewed without receiving a fingerprint report from the Illinois State Police.

Non-Resident Public Adjusters are also required to have their fingerprints on file with the Department. Live Scan Vendors are unable to send electronically across State lines. Therefore, you will need to contact a Live Scan vendor from the approved list to obtain instructions from them on how to submit a finger print card to them for scanning.

Resident Public Adjusters must complete 24 hours of continuing education; three of which must include classroom ethics to renew their public adjuster license. The following link will allow you to search for continuing education providers.
