|Discussion |Dr. Capurro reviewed the following topics and associated attachments: | |

| |• Introduction of the OHP Team | |

| |• Oral Health Related Legislation for the 81st (2021) Session – | |

| |Dr. Capurro discussed the Nevada Electronic Legislative Information System (NELIS) and | |

| |the Personalized Legislative Tracking (PLT) whereby, you can create a Personalized | |

| |Legislative Tracking (PLT) account to keep track of a bill’s progress. PLT will notify | |

| |you via email of changes to bill hearings, bill language, scheduling, and votes of the | |

| |bill. There is a free option to track up to 10 bills. | |

| |• Nevada Dental Foundation 501c3 non-profit – NDF is building a clinic in Tonopah. | |

| |Northern Nye County Hospital Association has brought in CNRC to run the clinic. Dr. | |

| |Capurro reported, Dr. Amy Tongsori, Jessica Watts and David Etchell did a site visit on | |

| |Jan. 16, 2021. Joseph Wineman and David Mahone went up the day before. She shared | |

| |pictures of the space for the clinic. NDF is looking at grants and planning how to | |

| |proceed. | |

| | | |

| |• Nevada Action Network – how to serve school age children at home with virtual check-up.| |

| |Free dental exam – for Medicaid. Nevada is the first of its kind to offer. | |

| | | |

| |• License Childcare Program – In October and November of 2020 and January of 2021 Dr. | |

| |Capurro and Ms. Woods visited 33 Rural Nevada licensed childcare centers, performing over| |

| |400 dental screenings and delivered educational presentations, sanitation stations and | |

| |oral health hygiene supplies to 880 children 3-5 year-old Nevada children. In Oct. 2020 | |

| |and Jan. 2021, a Nevada Registry approved CE was delivered to 49 rural LCC | |

| |administrators, teachers, staff and educators. | |

| | | |

| |• Children’s Dental Health Month | |

| |Ms. Woods presented February National Children’s Dental Health “Water, Nature’s Drink” | |

| |and gave an overview of the social media campaign #sipNflip4NVkids challenge. OHP held an| |

| |info session with more than 40 shareholders on Jan. 14 to receive feedback community | |

| |partners prior to the launch of the February campaign. OHP is putting together tool kits | |

| |to include welcome letter, NOHP about us, info graphic on sugar-sweetened beverages, step| |

| |by step on #sipNflip4NV challenge, branded water bottle, mask and a USB drive with an | |

| |electronic version of the toolkit. OHP will collaborate with Three Square food bank on | |

| |Feb. 25, 2021, at the Elaine Wynn Elementary School site to deliver Oral Health Hygiene | |

| |tote bags to approximately 500 families. OHP is in the process of obtaining Proclamations| |

| |from State of Nevada, Reno, Elko, Las Vegas, Clark County, and other rural Nevada city | |

| |and counties for National Children’s Dental Health Month. | |

| | | |

| |• Emergency Room Redirect Pilot Project is continuing. We are now ready to offer CE to | |

| |GPR Residents and working with UMC to offer a CE in early February. We anticipate the | |

| |program will be up and running in March. | |

| | | |

| |Dr. Cappelli said UNLV Dental Medicine would be interested in partnership with Tonopah | |

| |Clinic as it would be a great opportunity for a dental student rotation. He thanked Dr. | |

| |Capurro for her hard work on proposed Legislation, and the work on National Children’s | |

| |Dental Health campaign. Dr. Cappelli had questions regarding the liabilities of dentist | |

| |and dental hygienist administering the vaccine. Dr. Capurro referred to the Emergency | |

| |Directive 11, which provides immunity for providers during this time under NRS Chapter | |

| |414. She encouraged everyone to read Directive 11 since dentist and dental hygienist are| |

| |now able to give Covid-19 vaccination. | |

| |Ms. Chandler shared that since the Future Smiles clinic is on the Elaine Wynn campus, she| |

| |offered up volunteers for the Three Square event, as she will have students rotating | |

| |through that day. Loretta will coordinate with Ms. Chandler. | |

| |Outcomes. Providers paid on patient health outcomes. Started pilot with six offices in | |

| |Nevada by the end of quarter one we will add 20 more offices. | |

| |• UNLV Children’s Dental Prevention Clinic, Jan. 4, 2021, Liberty provided $100K Grant 6 | |

| |-11 ½ years old. Free to student with or without insurance. | |

| |• Nevada Action Network – in partnership with OHP. Launched in Jan. 1, 2021, allows | |

| |access to teledentistry for prevention and fluoride treatment for Medicaid, Medicare | |

| |patients. | |

|Discussion |Discussion by Dr. Coppes who submitted two resolutions at the NSMA Annual meeting last | |

| |1) Support scope of practice to administer vaccinations. He retracted due to some | |

| |technical things, such as liability. In general, the NSMA is supportive of this | |

| |legislation. | |

| |2) Approved – motion mental and dental focused on children can be provide in an | |

| |electronic and/or drive through screening. | |

| |Dr. Coppes emphasized the benefit of gaining support on these pieces of legislation from | |

| |the physician community as they may help to resolve potential barriers as they come up. | |

| |Dr. Capurro thanked Dr. Coppes for bringing these resolutions for support to NSMA. | |

|Discussion |Ms. Smith gave brief history on RAM events and updates on Pahrump RAM event – | |

| |presentation on file. Ms. Smith discussed challenges they faced with Covid-19 and the | |

| |extensive measures they had to take to make this event happen. They had 398 patients, 213| |

| |volunteers. They did 239 dental extractions, 116 fillings, 49 cleanings, 99 medical, 12 | |

| |mental health, 100 flu shots, and 111 vision exams/glasses. UNLV Dental Students were key| |

| |to the event’s dental success. Medical professionals volunteering are the driving force | |

| |behind the numbers we get to serve. Ms. Smith thanked Dr. Capurro for OHP support in the | |

| |rural and frontier areas; and acknowledged Dr. Coppes on his work on his legislation | |

| |support of expanding vaccinations to dental professional providers. | |

| |RAM will be coming back the first week in October 2021. Ms. Smith asked AC4OH to look at | |

| |Assemble Bill 81. | |

|Discussion |Ms. McKenzie, thanked RAM volunteers and UNLV students for their service. Legislative day| |

| |is schedule for March 25, 2021, an all-day event. Main event on March 26 scheduled in | |

| |the legislative suite. Limited in person events and virtual meetings at large due to | |

| |Covid-19. Ms. McKenzie asked everyone to send100 copies of info to be included in the | |

| |packet by next week’s deadline. | |

| |NDA Recently moved office from Las Vegas to Carson City. NDA has hired a new lobby firm, | |

| |Tri Strategies and they are collaborating with their PR Firm BP&E. | |

| |Focus on three Legislative priorities: | |

| |• Dental Practitioners Vaccine administration bill with Assemblyman O’Neil. | |

| |• Retroactive insurance claim denial, and claim denial after predetermination approval | |

| |with Senator Keffer support | |

| |• Dental loss ratio and teledentistry | |

| |NDA supports the Nevada Dental Foundation and the development of the clinic. | |

|Discussion |Dr. Capurro would like to add a planning strategy for a State Oral Health Program to | |

| |April 7, 2021. We will continue to keep this date on the calendar and Dr. Cappelli will | |

| |keep us posted. | |
