For Immediate Release: Sioux Center Chamber to Host Virtual Chamber Meeting discussing Mental Health in the Workplace.

The business community is invited to attend the Chamber’s virtual meeting on Tuesday, April 21 from 10-11 am. The topic will be “Practical Mental Health Tips During Stressful Times,”

and presented by Donna Van Peursem, LISW. Donna has been a clinical social worker for 23 years and provided individual, marital, family and group mental health work for 17 years. She currently is a tenured professor in the social work department at Northwestern College in Orange City

The outbreak of COVID-19 is causing disruption in the way we do business. Changes to our work environment, managing employees, stress of the unknown, and financial obligations can lead to fear and anxiety. Topics of this presentation will include supporting employee mental health, updated statistics, and the importance of self-care.
