All accommodations are provided in inclusive blended learning labs, which are general education settings. Accommodations are provided by a general education teacher, a special education teacher, or a paraeducator. If a student with an IEP is seeking participation, the school counselor at the zoned school must work with the IEP team chair to determine if an IEP meeting is necessary and to include members of the EDLP if appropriate. Services for students designated to the program following suspension are provided in alignment to COMAR and IDEA. The superintendent’s designees should refer to this course offering document as well as the information provided each year about special education scheduling in the EDLP for reassigned students.Students with ESOL ServicesThe EDLP can provide ESOL accommodations and supports for voluntarily enrolled or designated students who have an English proficiency level that allows them to access standard classes, but the EDLP does not offer ESOL courses. Support is provided to teachers and students in an inclusive blended learning lab for the self-paced blended courses listed above. If a counselor is considering a recommendation for a student with language learning needs, the counselor must work directly with resource teachers in the ESOL office before making the recommendation; the coordinator of ESOL has identified a proficiency level of three as the minimum recommended proficiency level for participation in this linguistically heavy instructional program. Students Supported by Home and Hospital InstructionThe EDLP collaborates with zoned schools and the team at Home and Hospital to allow students to access courses via the EDLP as appropriate. Students with special health considerations who may need to take Physical Education for original credit require approval from the Office of Physical Education prior to the school counselor making the recommendation. ................
