Falling Into Learning…

[pic]October was a fun filled month with so many exciting learning experiences. The Orange Fire Department visited our school and taught us all about staying safe (SSFLS 6.3). We also had a visit from our friend “Tucker Turtle,” who helped remind us what to do when we have a problem and how to find solutions to help us solve our problems. We visited Alstede’s Farm where we learned about healthy eating, interacted with animals, picked pumpkins, and enjoyed a fun, bumpy hayride. We ended the month by embarking on a learning journey about houses and homes. We learned about who lives in a house as well as the many different types of houses. We walked through our neighborhood and looked at the different homes that make up the area and we even explored blue prints and floor plans of different homes. After exploring them we discussed what our own homes look like and drew floor plans for them. October was OUTSTANDNG!

New in November

During the month of November, student’s will continue to engage in thought provoking learning with focus in language arts, math, science, and social studies, all while developing their social and emotional skills and abilities. We will begin the month by continuing our unit on houses and homes, spending time exploring our own homes and our family that lives with us in our home as well as how homes are constructed. After, we will end the unit by learning about who visits our homes, what we do inside of our homes such as traditions and feasts, and end the unit with a Thanksgiving Feast in our classroom home.
