VISUAL ARTSSub-school: SecondaryLesson number: 1Week: 2Date: Wednesday 22nd April, 2020What am I learning?I am learning to create a monochromatic painting using coffee or tea stain. What is my teacher looking for?I can create different shades of the coffee/tea colour within the painting.Boil the kettle and put different amounts of coffee/tea bags in 3-4 cups. (1 teaspoon in cup 1, 2 teaspoons in cup 2, 3 teaspoons in cup 3 and 4 teaspoons in cup 4)Add a small amount of hot water into each cup and stir. You now have your own monochromatic paints (monochromatic means the same colour, just different darkness)Experiment with what you can paint; you might like to paint a picture of a flower, a scenery, a mandala pattern, etc.If you do not have a paintbrush, wait until the coffee/tea has cooled and you can use your finger to paint. Another alternative is to use a cotton tip as a paintbrush.Questions to ask your child:How did you make the dark shades? How did you make the light shades? What else could you paint using this method?Useful links:How to draw simple images, step by step online tutorial- A father and son draw a range of simple images that you can watch and copy as well : Art Teacher’s art lessons online- Cassie Stephens is an American based Art teacher who creates daily blogs and video tutorials for a range of art making projects: a sunset online tutorial-Learn how to paint a sunset with this step-by-step video: You can sign up for free and?download?a range of fun and educational?resources (you will need access to a printer): ................
