A pen of four strong Limousin steers (25m) eased to ?1160 for Peter Hooper of Bovey Tracey with a pair of the same breed and age close at ?1130 apiece for David & Mary Stark of Denbury followed by Charolais (20m) at ?1115 for both Sue Cleave of Moretonhampstead and John Cole & Son of Harford. A trio of big forward Aberdeen Angus steers (25m) drew ?1110 a head for Graham Tancock of Broadclyst whilst Salers bred sorts (22m) saw ?1040 and ?1035 for Russell Boundy of Winkleigh and Caerhays Farms, St Austell respectively. Friesian steers reached a high of ?805 for a bunch of five (28-33m) from John Kittow of Silverton. The store heifer section was headed by Brian Vallance and family of Bickington with pairs of cracking red Limousin's (23m) running to ?1100 and ?1070 whilst an eye catching pen of six (24m) took home ?1000 apiece for Peter Hooper again. Smart Stabiliser heifers (30m) fetched ?1035 for Ian Widdicombe of Totnes with Charolais (22m) to ?990 for Rob Davey of Butterleigh and ?950 for Youlden Farm of North Bovey. Keith & Hilary Harvey sold Blonde heifers (23m) to ?950 whilst Simmentals (24m) sold to ?945 for David Dayment of Kingsbridge. Just a few organic certified cattle on offer with a single South Devon heifer selling well and for ?1020 for WJ Andrews & Son of Wembury and a bunch of five steers with the same comments off the same farm also looking decent money at ?1010 apiece.
