NATIONAL EGG REVIEW Regional and California prices are unchanged for Jumbo, 2 to 15.5 cents higher for Extra Large and Large, steady to 12.5 cents higher for Medium. New York egg prices are steady. The undertone is steady to lower in California, mostly steady in the Midwest region, steady elsewhere. Offerings range light to available, mostly moderate. Retail and food service demand is moderate to fairly good with noted transportation delays in areas of the Southeast affected by Hurricane Dorian. Supplies are light to usually moderate for current needs. Market activity is slow in California, moderate in all regions. Breaking stock floor stocks are light to moderate; breaking schedules are normal to less than normal due to the holiday. Light type fowl offerings are sufficient for the light and unaggressive demand.

There may be disruptions in production and deliveries in areas affected by Hurricane Dorian.

National Retail Egg Purchases Cooperators estimate orders for the week ending September 06, 2019 will increase by 0 percent. Present week purchases for the week ending August 30, 2019 were 197,373 cases which was 10 percent below the prior week and 10 percent below estimates.

Live Spent Light Fowl Prices are trending steady for moderate offerings of spent hens. Demand is light and unaggressive as finished product sales are slow but clearing satisfactorily. Processing schedules for next week are less than normal due to the Labor Day holiday. Market activity is slow to moderate. The majority price for removal costs are unchanged at 0-7 cents per head.
