Triple Chocolae Tiramisu

Every bite of this tasty tiramisu will bring pure pleasure to your palate, from the sweetened mascarpone filling infused with chocolate liqueur to the fine shavings of white and bittersweet chocolate nestled between layers of cream and Ladyfingers.

Ladyfingers are cake-like cookies that resemble plump fingers and can be found in the packaged cookies aisle of most supermarkets.

Prep time: 30 minutes

Chilling time: 6 to 24 hours

Yield: makes 12 servings

Ingredients

• 8 packages (3 oz. each) lady-fingers, split

• ¼ cup brewed espresso or strong coffee

• 1 carton (8 oz.) mascarpone cheese

• 1 cup whipping cream

• ¼ cup sifted powdered sugar

• 1 teaspoon vanilla

• ⅓ cup chocolate liqueur

• 1 ounce white chocolate baking squares or white baking bars, grated

• 1 ounce bittersweet chocolate, grated

• Halved strawberries and/or raspberries (optional)

• Spearmint leaves (optional)

Method of Preparation

1. Line the bottom of an 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan with some of the ladyfingers, cutting some to fit as necessary. Drizzle half of the espresso over the ladyfingers; set aside.

2. In a medium bowl, beat together the mascarpone cheese, whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla just until stiff peaks form. Beat in the chocolate liqueur until just combined. Spoon half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, spreading evenly. Sprinkle half of the white chocolate and bittersweet chocolate over the mascarpone mixture. Top with another layer of ladyfingers (reserve any remaining ladyfingers for another use). Add the remaining espresso, mascarpone mixture, and grated chocolate to form the top layer.

3. Cover the tiramisu and chill it for 6 to 24 hours. Cover any leftovers and chill for up to 1 day. If desired, garnish the tiramisu with berries and spearmint leaves.
