Comprising of a variety of teams geared to support students, the service area places student achievement and retention at the core of its business and seeks to take a proactive and innovative approach to the activities offered as part of the service area.The residence life coordinator role is integral to the delivery of an excellent student experience for those students who reside within University accommodation, be this the halls of residence or student houses. The residence life coordinator will be responsible for ensuring an excellent student experience through planning, organising and delivering a range of activities aimed at increasing student engagement. The reslife coordinator role will be responsible for ensuring integrated working across the reslife team, through team engagement, training and development, providing a supportive environment to make this happen. The reslife coordinator will also have a student facing element of their role, to ensure the student voice is a key feature in the future development of Reslife. The reslife coordinator may also at times owing to the nature of the role, become an initial point of contact for students requiring support, guidance and advice and hence must be in possession of the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to deal with such issues as they arise. Specific Duties and Responsibilities of the postWorking as part of the wider student wellbeing, learning and welfare support service area, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring an excellent student experience for those students living within student accommodation. The planning, organisation and delivery of student facing activities in addition to staff facing training, development and support are key features of the role. Owing to the nature of the role and the activities associated with it, the post-holder will also be required to provide an initial point of contact and signpost students who may require / benefit from accessing support services within the university. The post holder will work closely with the reslife team, particularly the resident assistants and will be expected to develop and maintain good working relationships with key internal and external partners in the delivery of a coherent package of activities and engagement opportunities for students. The post holder will be required to contribute to the planning and development of Residence Life at the University of Hull and the production of materials and resources related to the area.
