Craig Brown Outstanding Senior Engineer Award
TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY
The Craig C. Brown Outstanding Senior Engineer Award is one of the most prestigious achievement awards presented to graduating engineering students by the Look College of Engineering. Each Outstanding Engineer will be recognized with a $5000 award and personalized memento at the fall banquet of the Dean’s Engineering Advisory Council (date to be announced).
Recipients shall be full-time students in good standing who are on schedule to receive a degree from the College of Engineering during the fall, spring or summer graduation ceremonies for a given academic year.

ELIGIBILITY Fall 2018, Spring 2019, Summer 2019 Degree Candidates
CRITERIA Applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:
Scholastic Achievement - Student should have applied themselves during their undergraduate studies and achieved very high scholastic results. Minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 is required.
Leadership - Participation in numerous university organizations and shown leadership in many of these activities.
Character - Reflective of those principles which Texas A&M University has come to mean: integrity, loyalty, common sense, honor, duty and a high sense of moral responsibility.
NOMINATIONS All applications received by the Engineering Academic and Student Affairs Office will be submitted to the respective department for nomination. Each department may nominate three students for this award. Students receiving a departmental nomination will be notified by the Brown Outstanding Senior Engineer Award Committee.
RECOMMENDATION
LETTERS Students must submit a minimum of 2 letters from an advisor, professor, employer, etc., appraising their academic and personal qualities and accomplishments as a Texas A&M University student. Unusual family circumstances or special personal challenges should also be presented. The committee is particularly interested in evidence of character, relative maturity, integrity, independence, interest, and any special talents or qualities. Please avoid listing activities which are available elsewhere in the application. Letters should accompany application materials.

Since this statement may be photocopied for various committees, be sure the print is dark enough to produce legible copies.
