ERASMUS + Study Abroad Grant for Spring 2017

Exchange at University of Valladolid

ERASMUS is name of the organization responsible for the widespread study abroad mobility efforts of the European Union. In recent years, this study abroad model has been expanded to ERASMUS+, wherein the benefits of Erasmus can now be extended beyond the EU network to partner schools.

In collaboration with the University of Valladolid, the CSUSM Office of Global Education will be offering two 4,000 € awards for Spring 2017 study.

Criteria:

• The applicant must be enrolled and in good standing at CSUSM, holding a minimum 3.0 GPA.

• No preference as to the student's major or field of study, however, the field of study must be available at the University of Valladolid. Additionally, language fluency is strictly enforced. All applicants should have cleared SPAN 302 or the Spanish proficiency exam at the Language Learning Center.

• Applicants must write a personal statement as part of the application process. The theme of this essay is how this study abroad grant will enhance the learning experience and skills acquired in Spain. There is a 500 word limit.

• While financial need is a consideration, applicants will be evaluated first and foremost based on academic merit and the motivation relayed in the personal statement.

• Award amounts are pre-determined at a rate of 800€/month (approximately $900/month) over five months. Tuition fees will still be billed and collected at CSUSM.
