Linkage of the Components of Subjective Wellbeing with Happiness

Abstract

Background: Happiness is a subjective phenomenon depending on how individuals cognitively and affectively evaluate their lives. The hypothesis of this research paper is that the Subjective wellbeing (SWB) would be positively correlated with happiness.

Method:

Design:  Research Self-report data was collected through convenient sampling of 400 participants from different departments of University of Karachi.

Measures: SWB and happiness was measured by the Personal Wellbeing Index - Adult (PWI - A) and Oxford Happiness Questionnaire respectively.

Findings: Pearson Moment Correlation was computed where the results showed that subjective wellbeing (SWB)  significantly correlated with happiness measure,(r =0.264; p ................
