The course consists of daily classroom instruction in preparation for the world of work and work experience in the private sector industry. Specific goals are aimed at helping youth to become oriented and motivated toward education in order to be skillfully and gainfully employed in the real world. Required Materials: From School to Work Textbook and Activity book, Spiral Notebook, Loose Leaf notebook paper, White-Out, Ruler, Calculator, Two Pocket Folder, (2) Black/Blue Ink Pens, Personal Dictionary, memory stick and (2) #2 pencils. The percentages are only a general indication of the grading value of each component.Assignments (in-class & homework) 40%Assessments 20%Quizzes20% Attendance/Participation 20%Grading Scale: 90-100 =A80-89 =B70-79 =C60-69 =D59 and under = FClassroom Rules & Regulations: Negative behavior is not allowed. Students are responsible for their own behavior. Consequences for negative behavior will be dealt with in accordance with the Uniform Disciplinary Code.ID Cards must be worn at all times.Promptness to class is mandatoryNo “horseplay” or “other” non-academic activities.No headphones, personal stereos or cell phone activation are allowed in class (they will be confiscated).Absolutely no marking of any type in the classroom, on desks or computer workstations will be tolerated.Students must follow Christian Fenger uniform policy (for selected class levels).No Bathroom usage during class time will be allowed.All equipment usage must be returned to its previous location before period end.Dismissal — Students will remain seated until dismissed by the teacherFood or drink is not allowed in class.Attendance and PunctualityGood attendance and punctuality are essential. Students should attend all classes unless personally ill, there is a family emergency, or they are participating in a school activity for which the student is excused by the WECEP teacher prior to the activity. More students are failed for poor academics. It is also important for students to know that:STUDENTS ARE PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR TIMELY MAKEUP OF ANY WORK FOR ANY EXCUSED ABSENCE.
