Complete the chart or a graphic organizer summarizing the areas of interest and beliefs of major Enlightenment thinkers.

After you have completed the chart, look up the definition of “enlightenment” and “enlightenment thinkers” using an encyclopedia (online or otherwise). Do the people in the chart all classify as Enlightenment Thinkers? Why or why not?

4)

Write a brief summary of the ways in which the ideas of the Enlightenment thinkers challenged the traditional social, political, and religious order.

5)

Where there any other possible “enlightenment thinkers” mentioned in this reading? If so list them, as well as any other major works (books, pamphlets, etc…) they produced.
