Christopher Newport University's Summer Humanities Institute offers select high school students a rigorous, multidisciplinary program in philosophy, history, literature and classical studies led by CNU faculty. The residential camp is for current 9-11th graders, and will be held June 19- July 2. Applications are due March 15, and can be found at: .

University of Virginia's Center for Diversity in Engineering's Introduction to Engineering (ITE) program (June 26- July 1) introduces students to the theory and practice of engineering through lectures, labs, and exercises in engineering design, applied math, and basic science. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Preference is given to current 11th graders, but current 10th graders will be considered on a space-available basis. Deadline is March 18.

University of Virginia's Advance Summer College Experience (July 10 ? August 5, 2016) UVa Advance is a 4 week summer residential program for highly-motivated, rising high school juniors and seniors. Deadline is April 1, 2016.

Virginia Latino Higher Education Network's Hispanic College Institute at Virginia Tech (August 1-4). Free residential program for Hispanic students who are rising juniors and seniors (students currently in 10th- 11th grade). You must have a 2.5 GPA to apply.

Virginia Tech's C-Tech? (June 26- July 9) offers an opportunity to learn about college life for girls currently in grades 10 and 11. Activities include fun applications of engineering in real world situations, seminars about the college application process, and learning more about careers in engineering fields. Deadline is Monday, March 28.

John Hopkins University: Engineering Innovation: A Summer Program for High School Students Through Engineering Innovation, high school students put engineering concepts to the test. Applying their knowledge of math and science to labs and hands-on projects, concepts they've learned in their high school classrooms are suddenly linked to realworld practice. Students' confidence grows as they attend college-level lectures, tackle problems, test theories, and ultimately learn to think like engineers.

Lebanon Valley College's Health and Biomedical Sciences Summer Camp (July 10-15) provides current 9th-11th graders with a window into the scientific basis of human health. "Rolling" deadline means that applications will be accepted until the program is full.

*Graduating seniors only!* The National Youth Science Camp (NYSC) is an intense month-long camp for young scientists conducted during the summer after they graduate from high school. In a rustic setting in West Virginia, students are challenged academically in lectures, hands-on studies on current science topics, and outdoor

activities that are challenging for the experienced but accessible to those who have never participated in outdoor excursions. The NYSC is an all-expenses-paid program. Neubauer Family Adelante Summer Scholars Program (June 18- July 8) is an opportunity at UChicago for talented rising seniors (current 11th graders) to get a taste of an exceptional college experience! Top students engaged in Hispanic and Latino communities can participate in a University of Chicago Summer Session course free of charge. Selected students will receive a full scholarship to live on campus and participate in one of two exciting Summer Session Insight courses: Collegiate Writing: Awakening Into Consciousness or Contagion: Infectious Agents and Emerging Diseases. The scholarship covers tuition for the course, room and board, residential and student life fees, and the cost of travel to and from campus. Students will also engage with the city of Chicago and participate in college application workshops led by the Office of College Admissions. Applications are due by March 15.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's PREFACE Program is a two-week residential summer experience for talented 10th- 11th graders and who have expressed a strong, early interest in pursuing a career in the engineering and technological professions. It is for serious high school students from groups that have been historically and traditionally underrepresented or underserved in science, engineering, and technological fields. Smithsonian Latino Center's Young Ambassadors Program is a national, interdisciplinary leadership development program for graduating high school seniors. The mission of the program is to foster the next generation of Latino leaders in the arts, sciences, and humanities via the Smithsonian Institution and its resources.

Up to 24 graduating high school seniors with an interest in and commitment to disciplines in the arts, sciences, or humanities as it pertains to Latino communities and cultures will be selected to participate in an all-expenses paid training seminar in Washington D.C. and a four-week internship in museums and cultural institutions across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Through the program, we empower Latino youth to develop leadership and academic skills and foster pride in their own cultural heritage. f

JUNIOR STATE OF AMERICA JSA allows for an exchange of ideas through stimulating student debates, thought talks, problem solving, and a variety of simulations.
