School Council Meeting MinutesDate: Tuesday 1st March 2016 Time: 8:30am Attendance: PLT and School Council RepresentativesIssues/Ideas brought up during meeting:Summer Term lunch menu – Chef Peter has kindly asked school council to put together a week’s menu in the Summer Term. He explained how there needs to be variety and the boys should be creative with some of their food choices i.e. not pasta every day! Boys will relay this news to their forms and vote on a class dish for the week and then bring back suggestions to the meeting next Tuesday. We will finalise the school council menu next Tuesday.Hoodie designs – Mr Baker has asked Perry Uniform to mock up some designs for a Wetherby hoodie for Years 7&8. Of the four designs, school council voted on design one – an all red hoodie.Clubs – All of school council are pleased to hear that basketball club has been added to the Summer Term programme so a huge thank you to Mr Underwood! Some others ideas for clubs included:Geography Society (Colin Bloom)American Football Club (Roberson Brown)Dodgeball Club (Colin Bloom)Cross-curricular week – Some of the boys were interested in having a cross-curricular week like the VE Week. In particular, Antonio proposed ‘Sports Week’ and whilst this was met with some hostility as some boys are ‘don’t like sport’, they understood how it could be a fun week. Ardavan Pesendorfer also suggested ‘Science Week’ as a future idea. School council suggestions box – Colin and Pavel complained that they haven’t had a chance to share their suggestions from the school council box last term due to staff appreciation day. Boys will be able to share suggestions more in the next meeting and Miss Olney explained to them that not every item can be passed. Boys will choose the most relevant suggestions for the meetings rather than discussing all of them. Action Plan:Boys will share these ideas with their forms and talk to them more about what was discussed. Summer Term Lunch Menu – Attached to minutes is a ‘blank menu design’ so it would be great for each form class to come up with their lunch menu for the week. The school council representative will oversee this. Hoodies – Miss Olney has spoken to Mr Baker about the chosen design. Clubs – Miss Olney has sent out the meeting minutes with suggestions, although explained to the boys that the club programme for this term has already been finalised. Next meeting is scheduled for Monday 9th March 2016. ................
