Summer Drumline Camp
This camp is directed by Charlie Ortega and will take place via Zoom. The camp is two weeks long, June 15-26th Monday – Friday, from 9am- noon. Tuition is $200 per student, scholarships are available.
This camp is for incoming 6-9th graders. All levels welcome! Participants will be exposed to all different types of percussion instruments that are used in large percussion ensembles, including snare, marching tenor, bass, hand percussion like conga and djembe, and the melodic percussion, such as marimba, vibraphone, and timpani.

Summer String Camp
This camp is directed by Kristi Holstein and Jordan Warmath and will take place via Zoom. The camp is two weeks long, June 15-26th Monday-Friday. 1-3pm for Beginners (at least 6 months experience) and 3-5pm for Intermediate/Advanced. Tuition is $200 per student. Scholarships are available.
This camp welcomes participants ages 9-14 with at least one year of experience on violin, viola, cello or bass. String students will gain technical skills on their instrument, increased note reading facility, and composition instruction in a fun, supportive environment. Players will be divided by level into ensemble groups where they will practice their instruments together, culminating in an end of camp performance, including performing a piece of their own composition!

( Scholarship: $50. Student qualifies for the SBUSD free-lunch program and is eligible for a scholarship. Please note: We must receive SBUSD Food Services confirmation letter along with registration form to consider student for financial aid.
REFUND POLICIES
Refunds for withdrawing may only be made prior to June 1, 2020. The $50 non-refundable registration fee will be retained for processing all withdraws. If for any reason SBEF cannot place you in a class, your full tuition will be refunded, including registration fee. No refunds will be given after June 1, 2020.
LIABILITY WAIVER, RELEASE AND CERTIFICATION
______________________ has my permission to participate in the Santa Barbara Education Foundation (SBEF) SUMMER MUSIC programs. In consideration for my child’s participation, I hereby release and forever discharge and hold harmless SBEF and their respective officers, employees, agents, affiliates, volunteers and successors and assigns “releasees” from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action, of whatever kind or nature, in either law or equity, which may hereafter arise from my child’s participation in the SUMMER MUSIC programs, save and except for liability that arises as a result of the sole negligence or willful misconduct of the releasees. I understand and acknowledge that this Release discharges SBEF from any liability or claim that I may have with respect to any bodily or other injury, illness, death or property damage that may result from my child’s participation.
I understand that my child’s participation in the SUMMER MUSIC programs and/or any project, activity, or event sponsored, managed, arranged, or promoted by, or otherwise affiliated or associated with the SUMMER MUSIC programs may include activities that may be hazardous to my child. I hereby expressly and specifically assume the risk of injury or harm resulting from those activities. This release and assumption of risks is binding on my heirs and assigns.
I do hereby certify that to the best of my knowledge and belief my child is in good health. In case of illness or accident, permission is granted for emergency treatment to be administered. It is further understood and agreed that the undersigned will assume full responsibility for such action, including payment of costs.
I hereby advise that the above-named child has had the following allergies or medicine reaction(s) which could limit participation, or unusual physical condition(s) which have been made known to a treating physician and may limit participation (if none, please write the word “NONE”). ______________________________________________________________________
Additionally, I give the SUMMER MUSIC programs staff permission to photograph my child during summer activities for publicity use (promotional materials and website) only by the Santa Barbara Education Foundation.
