Purpose The purpose of the Sunday School Superintendent is to direct the children's discipleship ministry in our church, so that the ministry meets the goals set for it by our CE Board.

Length of commitment: 1 year

Amount of time required: 1-3 hours per week, August ? May

Duties: Recruit, train and support Teachers o Recruit teachers for Children's Discipleship Groups o Plan training for teachers, as needed o Meet with teachers before start of fall and winter/spring seasons, to hand out materials and to provide any needed training o Meet with teachers at end of Discipleship season to evaluate the year o Work with CE Board to plan a Teacher Recognition Sunday o Pray for teachers throughout the year Maintain supplies and curriculum o Select and order children's discipleship curriculum and supplies Oversee Sunday discipleship time o Take attendance on Sunday Mornings o Find substitutes for teachers when they need to be gone Promote Discipleship Ministry o Promote discipleship ministry to the rest of the church o Invite new families to participate in discipleship Oversee Christmas Program o Recruit a director of the annual Christmas Program o Communicate rehearsal and performance times to teachers and students Work as a member of the CE Board o Work under the supervision of the CE Board o Participate in monthly CE Board meeting o Prepare written reports for monthly General Board meetings and for Annual Meeting of the church

Expected lifestyle standards: Regular participation in Sunday worship and discipleship groups Demonstrated commitment to ministry of the church Healthy relationships at home, church, and work (builds up others; respected by spouse, children, fellow Christians, co-workers, supervisors) Positive reputation inside and outside the church

Qualifications and Special Skills Commitment to discipleship in the church. Ability to lead a team of volunteers. Ability plan and organize. Ability to recruit and empower volunteers. Ability to communicate expectations and to lovingly hold volunteers accountable to them.
