The unit is factory-assembled and factory-tested at the end of the production line. Units shall be shipped with a full operating charge of HFC-based R410A refrigerant and lubrication oil.Documentation shall be provided upon shipment, including installation-operation-maintenance manual, user guide, wiring diagram and submittal. Quality assuranceUnits shall be certified by Eurovent under the Liquid Chilling Packages programme (LCP). Unit is designed and manufactured under a quality assurance system and enviromental management system certified in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 and ISO14001 standards.Unit is factory-tested according standard EN14511, and performances are certified by Eurovent. All units are compliant with all applicable EU Ecodesign Regulations under the ErP framework Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament.All units follow a production quality plan to ensure proper construction and operation.Unit construction will be in accordance with follow European directives, and with national implementing legislation:Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/CEMachinery Directive (MD) 2006/42/CELow Voltage Directive (LV) 2006/95/CEElectroMagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC) 2004/108/CE Electrical Machinery Safety Standard EN 60204-1EcoDesign Directive 2009/125/CEConstruction CharacteristicsUnit panels, frames and exposed steel surfaces will be constructed of galvanized steel, painted and have a corrosion resistance of 675 hours to salt spray test.Operating rangeUnits shall be suitable for comfort cooling and heating applications. Each refrigerant circuit includes compressor discharge service valves, motorized suction valve, liquid line shut off valve, removable core filter, charging port, high pressure and low pressure safety valves and electronic expansion valve.Each circuit shall be equipped with two or more hermetic 50Hz scroll compressors with Intermediate Discharge Valves (IDVs). The Intermediate Discharge Valve shall adapt the energy consumption to the varying load and pressure conditions in the system. Motor bearings will be designed for the whole life of the unit.Each compressor will have compressor crankcase heaters installed and properly sized to minimize the amount of liquid refrigerant present in the oil sump during off cycles.Units can be provided with an isolator valve per manifold compressor. This service valve allows to isolate the refrigerant in the airside heat exchanger during service and maintenance activities on the compressors, waterside heat exchangers, electronic expansion valve and filter drier for each circuit. For safety, refrigerant pump down operations shall only be performed by a qualified HVAC service engineer.Oil ManagementThe unit shall be equipped with an oil management system that ensures proper oil circulation throughout the unit at all operating conditions. The key components of the system include an oil filter with particles retention capacity of at least 5?m. An oil heater is installed to avoid startup with low oil temperature. Super sub-cooler heat exchanger (SLHX)On CXAF HE models, the unit shall be equipped with a super sub-cooler heat exchanger installed on the compressor suction line (SLHX). Heat exchanger shall be of shell and tube construction type. Component shall enable a higher delta in enthalpy and improve refrigerant mass flow, resulting in a higher unit refrigeration capacity in heating mode. The SLHX shall also reduce the compressor discharge pressure, resulting in a lowe compressor power input. The UC800 controller shall ensure proper control of the electronic expansion valve to guarantee stability and avoid liquid slugging.Waterside heat exchangerBrazed plate heat exchanger (BPHE) is made of stainless steel with copper as the braze material. The BPHE is covered with factory-installed 0.75 inch (19.05 mm) Armaflex II or equal (?=0.034 W/(m.K) at -20°C ambient) insulation. Foam insulation is used on the suction line. Anti-freeze protection shall be provided as an option via a blanket heater, securing the brazed plate heat exchanger from freezing in low ambient conditions while the unit is in operation. In case no blanket heater is installed, anti-freeze protection shall be possible via pump activation using an external temperator sensor and the UC800 controller.All heat exchangers are tested in accordance with PED.Airside heat exchanger and fansAirside heat exchanger is equipped with aluminium fins mechanically bonded to internally-finned copper tubing. Condensers are factory proof and leak tested at 50.0 bars.Direct-drive vertical discharge axial fans are balanced. Three-phase condenser/evaporator fan motors with permanently lubricated ball bearings and external thermal overload protection are provided. Units can be provided with electronically-commuted (EC) fan motors as an option.Anti-corrosion epoxy coating An option to provide heat exchanger coils with epoxy coating will be available. Epoxy layers with 2 to 3 μm thickness are applied to the aluminum-coated fins in the factory. This e-coating will withstand the exposure to typical corrosive atmospheres, in shore or industrial locations, without impacting heat transfer efficiency or increasing air pressure drop.Control panel and unit starter Electrical panel shall be built of galavanized steel and rated IP54, with hinged door acess. The starter is available in a solid-state soft starter or across the-line configuration, factory-mounted and fully pre-wired to the compressor motor and control panel. Power line connection type is standard with a fused disconnect switch. All the starter elements are enclosed in an IP54 panel.A factory-installed, factory-wired control power transformer provides all unit control power and UC800 module power. All components and control cables are numbered in accordance with CEI 60750. The panel shall include machine protection shutdown with automatic reset when the condition is corrected for alarms that affect the normal operation of the unit (see ‘Tracer UC800’).Power factor capacitor shall be provided upon request.Trane Tracer UC800All units shall be equipped with a UC800 microprocessor-based controller which is factory-installed and factory-tested. The control system is powered by a control power transformer, provided with the unit.Microprocessor-based chilled water reset based on return water is standard. The UC800 automatically takes action to prevent unit shutdown due to abnormal operating conditions associated with low evaporator refrigerant temperature, high condensing temperature, and motor current overload. If abnormal operating condition continues and protective limit is reached, the refrigerant circuit will be shut down. UC800 provides a flexible alarm or unit status indication to a remote location through a hard wired interface to a dry contact closure. Four relays are available for this function.UC800 includes machine protection shutdown requiring manual reset for:Low evaporator refrigerant temperature and pressureHigh condenser refrigerant pressureCritical sensor or detection circuit faultHigh compressor discharge temperatureHigh Suction temperature Communications lost between modulesExternal and local emergency stopLoss of evaporator water flowLoss of BAS communicationElectrical distribution faults The above list is not exhaustive and only includes some of the most common diagnostics.Alarms and diagnosticsOver 100 diagnostic checks are made and are displayed when a fault is detected. The TD7 display indicates the fault, the type of reset required, the time and date the diagnostic occurred, the mode in which the machine was operating at the time of the diagnostic, and a help message. A diagnostic history displays the last 20 diagnostics with the time and date of their occurrence. Alarms and diagnostics are displayed in chronological order, with a color/symbol code: red octagon for immediate shutdown, yellow triangle for normal shutdown and blue circle for warning. Communication and control sourcesAll necessary settings and setpoints are programmed into the microprocessor-based controller via the TD7 operator interface. The controller is capable of receiving signals simultaneously from a variety of control sources, in any combination, and priority order of control sources can be programmed.The control source with priority determines active setpoints via the signal it sends to the control panel. Unit shall be able to support the following control sources:Local operator interface (standard)Hard-wired 4-20 mA or 2-10 Vdc signal from an external source (interface optional; control source not supplied)Time of day scheduling (optional capability available from local operator interface)LonTalk LCI-C (interface optional; control source not supplied)BACNet (interface optional; control source not supplied)ModBus (interface optional; control source not supplied)Trane Tracer? systems (interface optional; control source not supplied)Trane TD7 user interfaceFactory-mounted to the control panel door, the operator interface has a 7” LCD 16-bit color touch-screen display for operator input and information output. Display shall be UV-resistant and able to withstand ambient temperatures between -40C to 70°C. This interface provides access to the following information: operating setpoints, evaporator report, condenser report, compressor report, operator settings, service settings, service tests, and diagnostics.Additionally, the following data will be provided the reports:? Water and air temperatures? Refrigerant pressures and temperatures? Flow switch status? EXV position? Compressor starts and run-timeThe following ratings shall apply:IP56 CE certificationEmissions: EN55011(Class B)Immunity: EN61000 (Industrial)Integrated Variable Primary Flow Integrated within the unit controller, a variable primary flow (VPF) option will allow control of the water flow through the waterside heat exchanger. This will be based on a algorithm modulating the flow rate to minimize pump consumption at full and partial load. The VPF shall be able to operate in one of the following modes:Constant Differential Temperature: the unit controller algorithm will maintain a constant difference in between entering and leaving temperature at the unit plant (DT), regardless of the load, reducing the water flow rate when necessary up to the minimum allowed. This solution can be applied on water loops with 3 way valve systems, and can deliver high energy savings in the majority of comfort applications.Adjustable Fixed Speed: the pump is running at a fixed speed which can be set at a desired value by the operator.Noise reduction optionsIn case units are to be installed in noise-sensitive environments, one of the following sound packages shall be provided as an option: Low noise (LN) units are equipped with a compressor jacket encapsulating each compressor;Extra low noise (XLN) units are equipped with a compressor sound box with sound attenuation foam encapsulating all compressors. Additionally, unit shall be delivered with the ‘night noise set back’ (NNSB) feature as an option, which will reduce the sound power level of the unit during a specific period by reducing the running fan speed. The night noise setback can be enabled by an external on/off contact. The NNSB option shall only be compatible when unit is configured with electronically-commuted fans.Hydraulic module optionUnit shall be equipped with an hydraulic module (HDM) as an option. HDM shall include the following components: water strainer, expansion vessel, pressure relief valve set at 5 bars, balancing valve and anti freeze protection. Additionally, the following pump package options shall be provided and integrated within the packaged unit frame:single or dual pump low head allowing a pressure drop in the water circuit, or single or dual pump high head allowing a pressure drop in the water circuit.All pumps shall be rated IE3. Technical specifications and operating limits of the water pumps shall be provided in the Installation, Operation and Maintenance manual (IOM).Electrical optionsThe following options shall be provided with the unit:Under/over voltage protectionUnder/over voltage protection and ground fault protectionIP20 internal protectionFlow switch: the flow switch is sent as an accessory and must be installed on site.Solid-State Soft StarterEnergy meterTransport and installation Options To avoid direct contact between the baseframe of the unit and the ground and minimize vibration and noise transmission, neoprene isolators or pads shall be provided as an option. Regarding the water connections on-site, the unit shall be provided with grooved piped connections without Victaulic coupling as standard. Additionally, the following water connection options can be provided: grooved pipe with welded couplingsgrooved pipe with coupling and flange adapterAll units shall be shipped with a wooden skid as standard, located under the base frame. Wood shall be adequately treated. A pull-key is installed on each corner of the base frame to facilitate unit handling on the job site.
