Fourth Grade Classroom Supplies

- Each 4th grade student must purchase their own workbook of Wordly Wise 3000 Direct Academic Vocabulary Instruction - Latest Edition for Grade 4 (Book can be found in Get Smart stores)

- Each 4th grade student must purchase their own paperback novels:

1. Wonder, by R.J. Palacio (This novel is due in class the first day of school 8/19/19)

2. Journey to Jo'burg: A South African Story by Beverley Naidoo

- FCM Agenda Book $6.00 - 5 wide ruled composition notebooks - 4 dozen sharpened wood pencils - 1 covered pencil sharpener - 1 dozen pack red pens - 1 box 24-count colored pencils - 1 box 24-count crayons - 1 one-inch white clear view three ring binder - 5 assorted colored highlighters (not just yellow!) - 5 plastic pocket folders with clips and pockets (red, blue, yellow, green, purple) - 1 pair of scissors - 2 erasers - 4 large glue sticks - 2 pkgs. wide ruled notebook paper - zippered pencil pouch - 1 pack Expo dry erase markers - 1 expo eraser - 1 package of 25 sheet protectors - 1 package of 12x18 white or manila construction paper

Supplies for Art 1 roll of paper towels All students should bring their zippered pencil pouch with pencils and crayons to art class.

Supplies for Music 1 recorder 1 duo-tang folder with notebook paper labeled with student's name and "Music" 1 box of tissues

PLEASE NOTE: All students need a zippered pencil pouch with the following supplies every day for Homeroom, Foreign Language, Art, and Music class:

* 4-6 sharpened pencils * covered pencil sharpener * crayons (16/24 count) * colored pencils

*scissors * markers * glue stick * eraser

These items are consumable and will need to be replenished during the school year.

Fourth Grade Summer Reading and Practice

READING Students are expected to read at least one fiction chapter book (on their reading level) and one non-fiction book (reading level 3.5 or higher) over the summer. Students will be asked to either take Accelerated Reader tests on the books they read and/or complete a book report.

Suggested Summer Reading books include but are not limited to: Books by Jerry Spinelli: Loser, The Library Card, Maniac Magee, Stargirl Books by Roald Dahl: The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda Books by Louis Sacher: Holes, There's a Boy in the Girl's Bathroom The Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan The Sister's Grimm series by Michael Buckley The Dragons of Deltora and Deltora Quest series by Emily Rodda A Series of Unfortunate Events series by Lemony Snicket

MATHEMATICS - memorize all addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts - be able to complete 50 multiplication facts in 3 minutes (1-12) - students should be proficient in addition and subtraction with regrouping
