McIntyre Elementary Supply List 2019-2020

North Hills School District provides many of the tools and supplies necessary for your child to use at school. However, if your family is going to be purchasing school supplies this summer, suggestions are listed below by grade level. All students will need to have a regular size backpack.

The North Hills Church of Christ has donated backpacks and other basic school supplies to McIntyre Elementary School for families experiencing hardship. The supplies are available in August by contacting the school office at 412-318-1622.

Kindergarten Tissue box (no more than 2 boxes) Disinfecting wipes (no more than 2 containers) Crayola Twistables (Crayons-24 pack) Headphones (covered ear, not earbuds) Art shirt Elmer's Washable School Glue Sticks (2 large ones, to supplement school supply)

Grade 1 *Please label all of your child's items with a permanent marker. 12 Sharpened Yellow Pencils (to supplement school-issued pencil supply) Crayons (24 pack) 2 tissue boxes Disinfecting wipes Scissors Crayola Twistables Large t-shirt to use as an art shirt Headphones (covered ear, not earbuds) Pencil box (large one with dimensions of about 11x7 inches is preferred) Optional classroom donations appreciated: extra pencils, Band-Aids, dry erase markers, glue sticks, bag of pretzels or goldfish for snack on the first few days of school (students will be required to provide their own daily snacks throughout the year)

Grade 2

We supply an organized folder for each student that will go to and from school each day. The McIntyre PTSO has generously purchased all the supplies necessary to make this possible for each student. Thank you, McIntyre PTSO!

Other items to bring to school: *Please label all of your child's items with a permanent marker. A small pencil box (that will fit inside desks) Headphones (covered ear, no earbuds) in a gallon ziploc baggie Crayons (24 pack or larger) Colored pencils 12 Sharpened Yellow Pencils (to supplement school-issued pencil supply) Pencil sharpener (with "catcher" attached) Scissors Glue sticks (to supplement school-issued glue stick supply) 2 Tissue boxes Disinfecting wipes Band-Aids

Grade 3 In third grade, the students stay organized using a D.O.G. (Daily Organizing Guide) binder. This helpful tool allows us to carry all important information to and from school each day. The McIntyre PTSO has generously purchased all the supplies necessary to make this possible for each student. Thank you, McIntyre PTSO!

Other items to bring to school: 5 sharpened pencils Scissors Markers Colored pencils Pencil sharpener with plastic top Pencil box (small size to fit inside desk) Tissue box Highlighters Dry erase markers Glue sticks (to supplement the school-issued glue stick supply) Earbuds or personal headphones (labeled in a ziplock bag) One heavy duty three hole punched pocket folder (to be used as a homework folder)

Grade 4 We will supply a gold take home folder for each student.

Other Items to bring to school: 6 folders with 2 bottom pockets (1 of each color: green for grammar, red for reading, yellow for social studies, blue for math, white for work in progress, and purple for science) Pencil pouch (pouches fit better inside desks) Crayons (24-pack) Colored Pencils Scissors (7-8 inch work best) 1 box of Ticonderoga pencils/1 pack of pencil top erasers- (to supplement the schoolissued pencil supply) Replenish Frequently 2 red pens Glue sticks (to supplement the school-issued supply) 2 boxes of tissues 1 box of Band-Aids 1 container of disinfecting wipes 1 box of snack or sandwich bags Earbuds (labeled in sandwich bag with your child's name) Art Shirt

Grade 6

Highlighters (blue, orange, yellow, pink) Colored pencils, crayons, and/or markers Tissue boxes Pencil pouch/box (small size to fit inside desk) 7-pocket organizer Scissors Disinfecting wipes A book to read Earbuds/headphones (2) 3-ring binder (one inch) Pencils/erasers (to supplement the school-issued pencil supply)
