UNICEF to continue daily chlorination of all water points in Mafa, especially during rainy season. UNICEF is in charge of maintaining water quality in Mafa. They are currently carrying out bucket chlorination in Camp B. They are planning to start chlorination in the host-community.CAID to revise their WASH activities so as to make them context-specific to MafaThe flexibility of CAID to respond to real needs and gaps in Mafa is low due to donor constraints and the fact that the program they run is a consortium. However, there is still need to adequately respond to needs and gaps in Mafa. A meeting with CAID, the WASH Sector, the MoWR and Tdh to find a solution to this issue is required. All partners currently working and/or planning to work in Mafa, to share with TdH progress or plans in two weeks to update action plan and develop gap analysis. All partners have shared their on-going and planned activities and a comprehensive gap analysis have been elaborated by Tdh.To invite relevant stakeholders from the Government currently working in WASH in Mafa to the WASH coordination meetings.A representative of the government is attending this meeting.Tdh will request 2 plastic tanks of 10m3 each to UNICEF. If this is not possible, Tdh will use the already existing metallic plant and will take into account corrosion.Tdh did not get any feedback from UNICEF regarding this issue. Therefore, Tdh proceeds to use the existing metallic tank.Tdh will put locks, springs, gender signs, and provide repairs to all MSF latrines. However, there is need of support from other WASH partners in Mafa as Tdh does not have the capacity to carry out these repairs in the 130 latrines and 130 showers.A wind storm on 28.06.18 severely damaged all MSF-S latrines and showers. CAID has the capacity to repair 40 latrines. Tdh can fix the privacy walls of the Tdh latrines and showers. Tdh is actively seeking for support to decommission or repair the latrines affected by the wind storm. Tdh to liaise with and CCCM’s ACTED to mobilise all resources and actors for the bimonthly campaigns.DoneUNICEF, CAID, NCA to inform Tdh if they have capacity to contribute to the replenishment of soap distribution to take place during early June 2018.The huge number of new arrivals and the wind storm has forced us to change the priorities, and currently lack of NFIs for new arrivals and repair needs of sanitation infrastructure is a priority in front of soap scarcity. However, CAID has the capacity to distribute 1100 hygiene kits but there is need to discuss if they can distribute this to most vulnerable people or only to OTP patients, as their program dictates. Tdh has liaised with UNICEF so as they can supply with soap but we are still waiting for a reply.UNICEF and DRC to secure M&O and disinfection of their latrines.DRC was not present in the meeting. UNICEF has the capacity to M&O their latrines but most of them are currently destroyed by the fire and wind outbreak. Therefore, there is need to decommission these latrines. UNICEF to start the construction of latrines and showers as previously agreed.UNICEF has not started to build latrines and showers in Mafa.UNICEF and RUWASSA to complete the drilling of the borehole and start reticulation activities.Change in management of RUWASSA has stopped the drilling activities. CAID to locate their 40 latrines at the northern part of Camp B. DoneCAID to inform about their target groups for the distribution.OTPs patients.NCA to send the schedules of their planned activities with other WASH partnersDone.NCA all planned activities to be carried out ASAPNCA is on the right track and they are procuring their activities to start from 16.7.18.Tdh still to meet UNICEF-Protection and PLAN international in Mafa and jointly create an action plan to reduce GBV risk related to the use of WASH infrastructures. To be done from 09.7.-16.7.18Bimonthly voluntary campaigns will be carried out. Supply of water will be 9 hours and the fuel-based generator will be used to replenish tanks at the evening. Host community is neglected in Mafa, at least from the INGO’s side. Tdh has started liaising and negotiations with relevant actors to respond to this.Operation and Maintenance of 375 latrines and showers in Camp B, including hand-washing points and repair of super-structure, and securing community-based disinfection and M&O, on-going.Environmental sanitation campaigns at a bimonthly basis to clean areas affected by open defecation (paid basis) and waste (voluntarily + sanitation kit).Data collection on AWD cases from HPC and reporting to health sector as a cholera prevention and preparedness measure.Hygiene and promotion activities, on-going. Starting date is 09.07.18CAID is considering to change the construction of 8 hand pumps wells because the need in Mafa is to upgrade and reticulate the already existing boreholes. They are trying to change the design because the depth is too long, and they want to go for a motorised option.CAID has the capacity to distribute 1100 hygiene kits. They will include solar torches and whistles to mitigate GBV risk. Registration of beneficiaries for hygiene kits has started but the date of distribution is not fixed. Beneficiaries are people from the OTPs centres. Christian Aid is planning to start implementing their activities from July 2018.Norwegian Christian AidNorwegian Christian Aid will start WASH activities in Mafa from July 2018 onwards. AOBHuge numbers of new arrivals: Need to cater for their needs quickly. WASH, Food, Shelter, Protection, Health. Need to distribute roles in the meantime the reallocation is not completed. Tdh, ACTED and DRC are distributing hygiene, shelter and food. Capacity of other WASH partners is limited. 500-1000 hygiene kits have been secured for new arrivals which should last for 2 months.Wind and time has affected large numbers of UNICEF and MSF latrines. A wind storm has damaged most of latrines and showers built by MSF-S and UNICEF. CAID and Tdh has limited capacity to carry out repairs or decommission. Support is required from UNICEF and RRM Sector. Current state of damaged sanitation infrastructure increases the risk of an AWD/cholera outbreak. Wind storm affected the solar plaques of the only borehole in Camp B. Currently, the borehole is either not operational or only runs for a few hours per day due to lack of fuel. Tdh will complete their rehabilitation by 15.7. In the meantime, it would be necessary to provide fuel. CCCM to continue seeking support to cater for the needs of new arrivals.Tdh to continue seeking support to repair the damage caused by wind. CAID to start repairs of 40 latrines. Tdh to start repairs of the privacy walls of the Tdh latrines and showers.Actors with the capacity to provide fuel for the fuel-based pump to report to Tdh or CCCM.ATTENDANCE LISTS/anisationNameDesignationE-mail1.NCASamson Charles shapuHygiene promoter officersamson.charles@nca.no2NCAYusuf Halilu Gayayusuf.halilu.gaya@nca.no3RUWASSABuba Ummate WASH focal person Mafa 4UNICEFYohanna B.B.WASH Consultanthopebegzy1990@5TdhZainab AbdulkarimHP Supervisor Zeyabdul90@ ................
