SVP, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Senior Vice President of Business Development proactively pursues new business opportunities, attains decision maker meetings and closes new lines of business. Responsible for management of industry supplier program to ensure creation of benefits and strong ROI for participating companies. Member of the senior management team that drives overall strategy and represents NAA on local, regional and national basis

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

? Overall responsibility for the implementation of the department's strategic direction and development of the goals, objectives, and processes for the department. Develop a high-level strategy for establishing the Association's relationship ecosystem and plans for growth

? Industry Supplier Relations o Implement key account management for purposes of promoting and selling prospective sponsorships and other marketing and promotion opportunities for industry suppliers o Create sponsor, advertiser and exhibitor strategies, relationships and goals. Ensures appropriate activation, recognition and stewardship of industry supplier funding commitment o Execute sales plan to achieve annual goals o Develop clear protocols and plans in new business development, target companies, corporate engagement and foster superior customer experiences and retention o Serve as staff liaison to National Suppliers Council (NSC) and ensure creation of benefits and strong ROI for participating companies.

? Member Products and Services o Supports and participates in annual membership engagement activities with member companies in conjunction with SVP Affiliate and Member Engagement. o Works with select segments of membership to grow, retain and engage each group while implementing valueadd member activities.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Required ? Bachelor's degree in a relevant field ? 10+ years of experience in association or corporate membership/customer engagement management ? Clear understanding of membership and industry relationship and engagement building. ? Proactive, strategic thinker and problem solver with excellent team building skills ? Proven ability/record of sponsorship, advertising, exhibit sales- both new business development and retention ? Strong business orientation and ability to make data-driven decisions. ? Strong oral and written communication skills; ? Solid organizational skills with ability to balance team and individual responsibilities; ? Must be able to travel, to attend events and other off-site functions

Preferred ? Experience in membership-driven trade or professional association, or national non-profit organization ? CAE designation
