Julie Adrian has 25+ years of experience in the development and execution of health care marketing communications programs. She currently oversees the European Communications group for Syneos Health and provides strategic counsel for integrated communications programs for pharmaceutical, biotech and device clients. Previously, Julie led Chandler Chicco Agency for the U.S. and before that she started the West coast office for Syneos Health (formerly inVentiv Health) in 2004. The team there has become one of the most sustainable health care communications offerings on the West coast.
Her work with Syneos Health includes C-suite engagement to enhance corporate valuation and drive brand uptake for some of the most innovative and emergent health care companies in the sector. The award-winning work of the teams she has led has ranged from business-to-business initiatives in infection prevention to professional education campaigns in ophthalmology to third-party celebrity programs for movement disorders and Parkinson's disease to educational campaigns for allergic asthma to product launches and issues management for emerging consumer-facing brands. Julie's areas of expertise span from consumer health to professional and disease awareness education. From oncology to women's health, her experience includes programming in all phases of the product life cycle, including local and global strategy, patient educational events, employer programs, third-party relationship development and programs, sales representative and employee communications integration, professional medical education, issues management, clinical trial recruitment and corporate reputation management.
Prior to starting at Syneos Health, Julie co-led the $20 million health care practice for Cohn & Wolfe in New York where she managed clients such as GlaxoSmithKline, Aventis, Merck and emerging biotech companies. While at Cohn & Wolfe, she led the Allegra PR agency team that won the healthcare campaign of the year from PRWeek. Before Cohn & Wolfe, she was responsible for all pharmaceutical product public relations for Hoechst Marion Roussel ? now Sanofi Aventis ? as a member of the Commercial Leadership Team. Prior to Aventis, Julie was with the Kansas City office of Fleishman-Hillard and she began her career in the community relations department at a non-profit, 400-bed hospital in Kansas City.
Julie was recently the President of the Southern California chapter of Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) and was named one of that organization's Rising Stars, honoring up-and-coming professionals in various sectors of the health care industry who have demonstrated noteworthy achievements and proven attention to furthering their careers. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas.
