Most people like to do some things and do not like to do others. Look at the pictures. Then write what the persons or animals like to do and what they don't like to do. The first one is done for you. Use it as a model for the others.

SKILL OBJECTIVE: Using like(s), doesn't/don't like plus gerund. Give several statements of likes/dislikes: I like skiing, but I don't like skating. I like eating, but I don't like gaining weight. Ask students,"How about you?" After four or five have volunteered, ask their classmates to recall their statements. Alicia likes playing with babies, but she doesn't like changing them. If students use the infinitive verb instead of the gerund ("likes to play"), praise the sentence as correct, and encourage students to use both forms for variety. Assign the page for independent written work.
